Capital Improvement Committee <br /> Minutes <br /> November ember 1 , 1999 <br /> CIP Submissions Review: <br /> School: <br /> Robert McGowan and Sherwood Flury were present to discuss <br /> the School Department's capital improvement needs. Don Cook <br /> was to attendance to assist with discussions relative to the high school. <br /> Projects under consideration for fiscal year 2001 include; the replacement <br /> of a twenty year old dishwasher at the Quashnet Schools. Due to its age, <br /> parts are out of production. The requested appropriation is $40,000. <br /> It was noted that the item was submitted to the Board of Selectmen who <br /> recommended that the issue be deferred to the CE' Committee. <br /> The treatment and staining of extensive portions of the high school is <br /> requested in FYO 1 for an estimated cost of , o . The exposed wood <br /> on the exterior of the building requires professional assistance and i <br /> expected to be a five-year maintenance item. <br /> The School Department was-requested to obtain price quotations for the <br /> replacement of the high school exterior wood finish with low maintenance <br /> vinyl products. <br /> l.ron in the Irrigation System at the high school has caused orange stains <br /> on the building and on the cement sidewalks.s. treatment system <br /> consisting of twelve zones around the building is estimated to cost <br /> $1 <br /> The the floors on the lower level of the high school need to be addressed. <br /> There is a continual seeping of adhesive due to excess moisture. The <br /> warrant aspect is under consideration. The replacement estimate 1s <br /> $23,989. <br /> The replacement of one of the older vans is also considered a capital <br /> improvement need of the School Department in fiscal year 2001. <br /> Presently, the department has four vans and one station wagon. The <br /> vehicles are used to transport special needs students to specific locations <br /> on and off Cape. <br />
