2 <br /> Capital Improvement Committee <br /> Minutes <br /> December 4, 2001 <br /> Review of Departmental Requests: <br /> Building Dew t.: <br /> Russ Wheeler, Building Inspector was present to.discuss his request for <br /> a vehicle upgrade. It was noted that the.Inspector's vehicle was <br /> previously contained i the FY05 CIF program. The vehicle is presently <br /> in the FY03 budget of departmental requests due to increased repay and <br /> maintenance occurrences. <br /> Mr. Wheeler indicated that the present 1996 Ford Ranger vehicle i .too <br /> light weight and impractical for site inspections. There is little room for <br /> equipment and personnel. The present vehicle-is a five-speed lacking <br /> power steering. <br /> 1996 Ford Ranger—58,000 to 60;000 miles <br /> Vehicle used 5 to 6 hours per day <br /> Purpose: wilding Inspections <br /> ME um trade-in value: $2,500 <br /> Potential for vehicle to be reassigned <br /> Projected repairs—new belts <br /> Quotes for new Ford—F-150—4WD—3 person cab <br /> Range: $19,290 to $21,800 <br /> Option for 6 person SUV-type of 4WD vehicle,was considered. <br /> Board of Health: <br /> Glenn Harrington, Board of Health discussed departmental needs in FY4 <br /> tb replace the present 1996 Jeep 4WD vehicle. It was noted that a four- <br /> heel drive vehicle is necessary.for the Health Department to conduct off <br /> road testing, A 4WD Jeep vehicle is sufficient for BOLI use. The FY04 <br /> budget request for a 4WD Jeep vehicle is $25,000. <br /> 1996 Jeep Cherokee—43,300 miles <br /> Vehicle used 5-6 fours per day <br /> Purpose: Health Inspections <br /> Repairs relatively inexpensive to date <br />
