;r f <br /> 2 <br /> CIP Committee <br /> Minutes <br /> January 6, 2004 <br /> Review of FY05 CIP Submissions: - <br /> Harbormaster: <br /> Replacement vehicle Request: - $25,000%ton 4WD pickup truck <br /> Perry Ellis, Harbormaster was present-to,request consideration to replace <br /> his department's 1994 4wD V ton pickup truck. The ten year old vehicle <br /> is used for emergency response, patrol-tow and work-related operations. <br /> The pickup has 74,000 miles. The truck firame is hea ily rusted'due to salt <br /> water damage. As a result,the vehicle-is.riot capable of towing-and <br /> hauling heavy loads or barge boats. <br /> Mr. Ellis indicated that he was-unable to obtain an inspection sticker due <br /> to the present condition of the.vehicle tires: He was advised'to <br /> immediately acquire new tires to meet inspection needs for vehicle <br /> compliance. <br /> Leisure Services Department: <br /> Due to budgetary constraints, the Leisure Services Department did not <br /> submit a capital improvement pro rarn request for fiscal year 200 5. Gus <br /> Frederick, Leisure Services Director was present to discuss the needs of <br /> his department and projections to utilize the existing Council.on Aging <br /> building as a future recreation community center. <br /> 1 . Fredericks indicated that if the Town were to utilise the building for <br /> the pre-school program, he suggested the CIP Committee consider a <br /> playground facility to accommodate the Kids Klub program. <br /> Town Services were deemed a priority for the Council on Aging building <br /> as were space needs for the Human Services Department. Nine to twelve <br /> months of construction is projected for the nevi Senior Centel'building. <br />
