Replacing vehicles every <br /> three years, opposed to every two years would realize a savings during the <br /> changeover cycle. <br /> ' The CIP Committee requested the Deputy Chief reconfigure the vehicle <br /> replacement schedule "safely" to maintain additional back-up vehicles <br /> opposed to the lease/purchase of all new vehicles. This type of support <br /> vehicle could be assigned to deta*l work versus patrol shifts and lessen the <br /> burden of new vehicle replacement costs. <br /> Three vehicles, one for the chief,the deputy chief and lieutenants are <br /> proposed for replacement next year in a three-year replacement cycle. <br /> It was noted that current staffing consists of five patrol sergeants,two <br /> lieutenants, and twenty-one patrol officers. <br /> i <br />
