4 <br /> Capital Improvement Prograrn Committee <br /> Minutes <br /> December 15, 2005 <br /> Board of Health: <br /> Glen Harrington, Health Agent discussed the Board of Health's capital <br /> requests for fiscal year 2007. <br /> 4 wheel Drive vehicle- $26,028: <br /> i <br /> A new 4 wheel drive vehicle would replace the departments 1996 Jeep <br /> Cherokee. The vehicle has approximately 70,000 miles, and any major <br /> problems with the vehicle are anticipated to cost the estimated value of the <br /> vehicle. Repairs last year amounted to $400. <br /> Landfill C - 860: <br /> In fiscal year 2006,the Board of Health secured an estimate from <br /> C <br /> Woodard& Currah to loaml, seed and re-grade approximately-three acres <br /> of the northwest comer of the landfill. The drainage berm surrounding the <br /> landfill cap has been documented as too sparse for vegetation. The sum of <br /> $3,000 is estimated to hydro-seed the berm. Soil and compost for the <br /> bean will b provided by the DPW. <br /> The Board of Health and the DPW will continue to work to reduce costs <br /> and to comply with the landfill requirements. At this time,no violations <br /> exist,but should the IEP inspect and require action,the Ton would he <br /> able to show that monies have been requested. <br /> Leisure Services: <br /> Gus Frederick, Leisure Services Director reviewed future capital <br /> improvement requests of his department with members of the Capital <br /> Improvement Program Con nit ee. <br /> Yob 24 Passenger Bus-- $49,000: <br /> The proposal brought to the C P Committee two years ago would replace <br /> 1999 E350 passenger van. The current vehicle has approximately 56,000 <br /> miles. A new and larger vehicle would allow the department to transport <br /> program participants to a variety of activities both on and off Cape and <br /> would assist With summer camp programs. <br />
