2 <br /> Capital Improvement Program Committee <br /> Minutes <br /> January 31, 20 <br /> Police Department: (continued) <br /> Motion made by Ms. Cook to move forward with the acquisition of <br /> eleven 11 police vehicles in the amount of$108,082 as follows; <br /> +7 Police vehicles (year 2 of 3 yr lease/purchase) $61,712 <br /> Police vehicles (year 1 of 2 yr lease/purchase) $23,870 <br /> Police vehicles(year 1 of 3 yr lease purchase) $22,500 <br /> Notion seconded by Nis.Mason. <br /> VOTE-.P Unanimous. 2-0. <br /> Mr. Umina abstained. <br /> To ensure officer safety, Chief Collins urged the Committee to fund the <br /> immediate replacement of aging, police portable radios. The department <br /> has requested to replace 36 units at a cost of$117!,066-60. The radios, an <br /> important communication link, cost approximately $3,500 each. <br /> Discussion followed with respect to phasing and use of available and <br /> potential funds to allow for the segmented radio program purchase. <br /> Additional items discussed M' eluded the replacement of worn and outdated <br /> gni hings. In an effort to address inadequacies, it was agreed the Chief <br /> would present an initial budget for stackable chairs and folding tables to <br /> improve the appearance of the meeting room. It was agreed a phasing <br /> program would be considered for future furniture replacement needs. <br /> It was recommended the Chief consult the Cable &Advanced Technology <br /> Advisory Board as an initiative to assist with the department's finding <br /> request to upgrade the booting and interrogation equipment. <br /> School: <br /> It was noted the Cable& Advanced Technology Advisory Board is <br /> assisting the School Department to improve the w <br />
