' 2 <br /> Capital Improvement Program Committee <br /> Minutes <br /> Dcernber 11, 2007 <br /> Present: Joyce Mason, Rene Read, Theresa Cook, Dawn Thayer,fancy Jo Goulart <br /> Absent: Charles G asior <br /> Fleeting Called to Order by Chairman Masora at : 1.2 p.m.. <br /> Toxo Mall, Conference Doom#I <br /> MINUTES: <br /> Tuesday,.i December , 2007: <br /> yi iii i i <br /> Typo: To read February 20, 2007 opposed to December 20,2007 <br /> under topic; Minutes. <br /> . <br /> Motion made by Ms. Goof to approve the minutes of Tuesday, <br /> December 4,2007 as amended. <br /> Motion seconded by Ms. Go l rt. } <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. <br /> APPOINTMIENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> The Capital Improvement Program Committee reviewed the following <br /> capital budget requests for fiscal year 2009 and ensuing years. <br /> Department of Public Works: <br /> Greg Taylor, Director of the Department of Public Works was iii <br /> attendance to discuss capital projects prioritized y his department for <br /> fiscal year 2009. <br /> The final and second year payment, $56,390 for the lease/purchase of a <br /> 2008 Chevrolet CC 500 6-wheel dump truck approved with CIP funding <br /> in FY08 was the top priority of the DPW for CIP funding. <br /> Two 1999 P-350 pick-up trucks were also prioritized by the DPW for <br /> replacement at a cost o $35,000 each. The request was A noted deferment <br /> from the FY06 capital improvement program. The vehicles are used daily <br /> and would be used as a trade-in or auction due to costly maintenance. <br /> Each vehicle has over 80,,000 miles and repairs are becoming more <br /> frequent. As a result of exposure,the floor and body of the trucks are <br /> rusting.. Expensive repairs are necessary if the vehicles are not replaced. <br /> The DPW intends to purchase the 1-ton 4WD vehicles with plows. <br />
