i Capital hnprovement Program Committee Minutes March 4, 2010 Present: Joyce Mason, Theresa Cool, Dawn Thayer, Nancy Jo Goulart, Charles Gasior Meeting Called to Order by Charman Mason at 3:30 p.m. Town Mall, Conference Room#1 QIP P �R"FY2011: The Capital Improvement Program.. CIp Committee met for the purpose of recommending capital projects for fiscal year 2011. Due to budgetary constraints in challenged economic times,the CIP Committee agreed t recommend the committed vehicle lease purchase program for the Police Department for Y2 11. The sum of$145,,000will allow for the continuation of the vehicle replacement plan previously adopted. The project is in its third year acquisition schedule of 10 police vehicles ($105,000) and second year acquisition schedule of 4 unmarked police vehicles ($40,000) approved TY . Lease/Purchase Proaram—Police vehicles: Motion made by Mr. Gasior to approve the continuation of the lease/purchase of police vehicles; $145,000 ($105,000 year 3 of 3, $40,000 year 2 o as.obligated under the CIP Program for fiscal year 2011 Ilion seconded by Mrs. Cool. VOTE: Unanimous. - . Phone System Up r de—MCAT Fundin : The CIP tools action on additional projects identified with the use of separate funding initiatives. The Mashpee Cable and Advanced Technology(MCAT)Board previously voted to fund the phone system upgrade contained in the budget request of the Information Technology (IT) Department. The sum of$230,264 is projected to complete the phone system upgrade for all Town and School phone systems. The existing system was installed with the renovation of the Town lull and is now deemed obsolete. It was noted the Mashpee High School phone system was funded and installed in August of 2009. The new-Library phone system has also been funded and was installed in January of 2010, As a result,the phone system upgrade for the remainder of the Town buildings is anticipated to derive under budget projections. 2
