Mashpee Affordable Housing Committee <br /> Meeting Minutes <br /> January 8, 2013 at 6:30 lam <br /> Selectmen"s Meeting Room, Mashpee Town Miall <br /> Present: Chairman Walter Abbot, Berkeley Johnson, Ralliope Egloff, Allan,Isbit <br /> Also Present: S l ctman Michael Richardson, Leila Botsford-Executive Director, M shp e <br /> Housing Authority <br /> CALL TO ORDER <br /> Chairman Abbott called the meeting to order at 6:35 p.m. and the roll was called. <br /> APPROVAL OF TS- ecember 4, 2012 . <br /> Mr. Isbitz made a motion t accept the minutes. Mr. Johnson seconded the motion. All <br /> voted unanimously. <br /> OLD BUSINESS <br /> Feasibility Study/CPC Request <br /> Chairman man Abbott reported that the feasibility request had been submitted and that the <br /> Community Preservation Committee would be meeting on January 15 at 6 p.m. Ms. Egloff and <br /> Mr. Isbitz offered to attend the meeting in order to show their support for the request as the Chair <br /> and Mr. Johnson had another commitment. The Chair indicated that he was awaiting <br /> confirmation from the Committee that the request would be placed on the agenda. Ms. Egloff <br /> contacted CPC Board Secretary Kathleen Soares confirming receipt of the request and placement <br /> on the agenda. The Chair will email a copy of the application to Affordable Housing Committee <br /> members. Mr. Isbitz reported that he was in contact.with Laura Shufelt, who indicated that she <br /> was not involved with the grant for the feasibility study. Mr. Isbitz learned that the application <br /> was submitted directly to DHCD, Sustainable Communities Division. Mr. Isbitz was in contact <br /> with DHCD and learned that the application was received on January 2 and a preliminary <br /> reading occurred on the same clay. Miriam Bobadflla, Senior Technical Assistance Coordinator, <br /> was assigned to review Ma hpee's application_ It was recommended that someone follow up <br /> with the Town Manager as she was sent a confirmation o receipt of the application and possibly <br /> ars additional request for information. Mr. Johnson recommended that the Committee meet with. <br /> the Town Manager. The Chair also recommended po sibly contacting with-Assistant Town <br /> Manager, Toni Mayo, as he was the Town's contact. It was also recommended that a copy of the <br /> application that was sent to DHCD be acquired. Mr. Isbitz learned that review of the application <br /> would typically take a couple of weeks, but if more information was requested,the application <br /> would be off the clocl until the additional 'Information was received, Mr. Isbitz also stated that <br /> the funding was priority development Ml s Dousing money, administered by DHCD, but <br /> approved by Mass Housing. Mr. Isbitz reported that DHCD opened up priority development <br /> funding to Compact Neighborhood program, creating additional competition. -However,,the <br /> change was announced only in December and no Compact Neighborhood Applications had been <br /> received so M shpee should still be ahead in the timeline and may not be affected by the <br /> competition. Selectman Richardson reported that he was 'Informed that the application looked <br /> good and a decision was expected soon. Selectman Richardson indicated that he hoped to <br /> schedule a meeting with Yarmouth where they have an active Affordable Housing Trust, in an <br />
