Selectman Richardson pointed out that <br /> the CPC request would need to disburse the funds to the Trust and the Chair responded that his <br /> letter to Ms.-Mason requested that funds be disbursed to the Town Manager to fond the RFP. <br /> Habitat for Humanity Town Land <br /> The Chair referenced the % protection of land, governed by Fisheries and Wildlife, noting that <br /> it was not a hard, firm rule and that it could be waived if the land was less than 5 acres or <br /> through mitigation, but that plans needed to be submitted. Mr. Johnson agreed with the Chair, <br /> but noted that the Strawberry Avenue parcel would still be facing the fire regulation of a paved <br /> road and turnaround area reaching within 150 feet of the furthest poinf of the dwelling. Mr. <br /> Johnson noted that Habitat dict not typically pave driveways due to the expense. Mr.Jsbitz stated <br /> that the Fire Department typically establishes the fire standards, in order to effectively fight a <br /> fire. Mr. Isbitz recommended discussing the issue directly with the Fire Department. <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> Great Cove Update <br /> Chairman Abbott stated that a second modification of the permit was signed in December. Ms. <br /> Botsford reported that the developer has noted that, with so many funding sources, the many <br /> attorneys are reviewing the various documents prior to the closing. <br /> Mashpee Housing Authority Update R <br /> Ms. Botsford distributed copies of her update regarding the CPC fanded Mashpee Housing <br /> Assistance Frograrn. Ms. Botsford reported that the Authority was able to begin funding <br /> individuals as early �s Jul 2012, had financially assisted 35 Mashpee residents and that all funds <br /> had been allotted. Vis. Botsford stated that there was a waiting list in all programs, with the <br /> greatest need being in ongoing rental assistance, which is the lamest portion of the Housing <br /> ing <br /> Assistance Program. Ms. Botsford added that it was also the most work intensive because the <br /> Authority conducts various checks and,-once eligible for the prog�ra nn finances are reviewed and <br /> recommendations made In order to save money and budget. Ms. Botsford noted that <br /> participating individuals set 3-5 quantifiable goals to be achieved in 6 months, showing progress <br /> towards meeting the goals in order to star in the program. Ms. Egloff inquired whether other <br /> residents, not in the program, would have access to the tools utilized in the program as a means <br /> to learn budgeting and setti financial goals. Ms. Botsford stated that the simplest form they <br /> g g g <br /> use is a budget form. The Chair inquired about how participants connected with the program and <br /> Ms. Botsford responded that information was available on the Mashpee Housing Authority <br /> website and brochures, and previously,they had advertised in the paper. Eight individuals <br /> receiving loans have all repaid the loans. Ms. f otsford stated that they have also been in receipt <br /> of thank you letters from participants. M_s, Egloff recommended Mashpee offering financial <br /> literacy programs, including goal setting, to adults in town. Ms. Botsford indicated that HAC <br /> offered a similar program_ Tis. Egloffrecommended liming it to the Affordable Housing <br /> Committee website. Mr. Johnson referenced a similar program on Martha's Vineyard. The <br /> Chair also recommended offering something similar through the Senior Center. Its. Egloff <br /> inquired whether Ms. Botsford's assistant would be interested in running a similar financial <br /> literacy program open to other residents. Regarding the Authority's properties, Ms. Botsford <br /> reported that all properties had waitlists and A her's Path had 30 people on the list with little <br /> turnover, only 8 in the past year.
