i I t+ Mashpee Affordable Housing Committee Meeting Minutes February 5,2013 at 6:30 pm Selectmen's Meeting Room,Mashpee Town Hall Present.* Cha an Walter Abbott, Berkeley Johnson, Kalliope Egloff Also Present: Selectman Michael Richardson Absent: Alan Jsbit CALL To ORDER Chairnaan Abbott called the meeting to order at 630 p-m. and the r h was called. APPROVAL OF S-January 8, 2013 Mr. Johnson mde a rutin to accept the minutes: Ms. Egloff seconded the motion. All voted unanimously. OLD BUSINESS Feasibility Study y Selectman Richardson indicated that the Town believed-funds were approved by D CD and that i they were awaiting authorization for the funding. Additionally, Selectman Richardson confirmed that the CPC had approved mooring forward with an Article for the funds but that the funds would need to be accepted by the Board of Selectmen or the Affordable Trust. Selectman.' Richardson planned to meet with Bob Lawton, from Yarmouth and knowledgeable about affordable trusts, regarding Mash ee's ffordabl a Housing Trust. fir. Johnson requested that he and Ms. Botsford be contacted regarding the upcomi. g Affordable Housing Frust meeting. Selectman Richardson confumed that fir. Johnson would be invited to attend. �&. Johnson recommended haat the funds be forwarded to the Affordable Housing Trust ire order for the Trust to begin working. There was discussion regarding whether a special revenue account was in place for the Affordable Housing.Trust. There was consensus that the funds be set aside in a special account designated-for affordable housing, rather than i the general fund. Once the funds were acquired, the Chair questioned the paeans by which an RFS'would be generated. Selectman Richardson suggested that the RFS'would be recommended by the Affordable Housing.Conunittee, then distributed by the Affordable Housing Frust. CPC Update Chairnnan Abbott:stated that Mr. Isbitz attended the CPC meeting and reported that the Tovn Manager intended to ressubnnit the application and sign it, along with Chairman Abbott, to possibly request additional funds. The Chair contacted Ms. Mason by email, but had not yet heard back. There was discussion regarding a deadline. The Chair stated that any remaining CPC funds could not be used for an additional study and that a second application would need to be submitted for a second site. The Cham-reported that Ms_ Botsford submitted a request for additional funds to expand her program. The Chair reported that Board members of the Quashnet valley Homeowner's Association have expressed concern about the request.
