There <br /> was also discussion about the various types of housing, such as senior housing ad workforce <br /> housing, and the need to fulfill Mashpee's requirement to the State* The Chak suggested <br /> offering a sear regarding Mashpee's affordable housing program at the Senior'Center, <br /> inviting residents of Quashnet and others to attend. Ms, Egloff recommended also having <br /> Selectman Richardson attend to discuss Mashpee's commitment. The Chair recommended that <br /> members share their thoughts regarding an affordable housing seminar with him by email. It was <br /> recommended that it be offered as a workshop rather than a posted meeting. Ms. Egloff also <br /> } recommended inviting Lefla Botsford to attend. Committee members Frere agreement <br /> regardmng developing affordable housing that would best suit Mashpee. The Chair read a letter <br /> from the Quashnet valley Association of Homeowners Board. There was discussion about the <br /> letter and reference to the construction of 30 units, noting that 30 units had never been <br /> recommended. Ms. Egloffrecommended following up with other abutters, such as the schools, <br /> so that they could be involved from the beginning_ <br /> NIEW BUSINESS <br /> Affordable Housing Trust <br /> Mr. Johnson reported that a State sponsored affordable housing trust seminar was expected to <br /> meet four tunes in 2013 and he expressed interest in attending. A Mashpee Affordable Housing <br /> Trust meeting was expected soon. There was discussion regarding the membership, which <br /> included the Board of Selectmen, Mr. Johnson and A&. Botsford; Ms. Egiff indicated her <br /> interested in knowing who else sat on the -member Trust. Ms.,Egloff also noted the importance <br /> of the "gust having a miss'ln in order to clarify the goals of the Town to meet the 10% <br /> affordable housing rate set by the State. Selectman Richardson suggested that Mr. Lawton <br /> would be helpful in advising Mashpee's Affordable Housing Trust. There was some discussion <br /> regarding changes that would be needed to adjust the membership of the Trust. <br /> Money for Cottage Housing Seminar <br /> The Chair Mndicated that the Cape Cod Commission may have some funds available and inquired <br /> about the expected costs of hosting a Cottage Dousing Seminar, It was suggested that the <br /> greatest cost may be the speaker and it was recommended that the meeting be held rm*d-Cape, <br /> such as the Harbor view Bora at the County offices which would seat 75 people and he free of <br /> charge. It was also suggested that the meeting be co-hosted by Mashpee and the Cape Cod <br /> Commission and that targeted marketing should be considered to identify an audience. The cost <br /> of food and printing were other considerations and it was suggested that the Cape Cod <br /> Commission may he able to offer copying services. May 2 was suggested as'a possible date. <br /> The Chair Will follow up with Mr. Isbitz regarding a speaker impend and his availability on May <br /> 2. The Chair will submit an application to request the funds from the Cape Cod Commission. <br /> Ms. Egloff recommended including the Mashpee Housing Authority"s progran-, along with a <br /> discussion about cottage housing and time for networking, in an effort draw in more people. <br /> 2 <br />
