CJ, <br /> There was also discussion regarding Mashpee Commons and their 92-96 urnits. Selectman Richardson <br /> indicated that he attended a meeting with Mashpee Commons and interest had leen expressed that <br /> Mashpee apply for a grant in partnership with Mashpee Commons to move forward with their <br /> affordable housing plans particularly as it would fulfill much of what the Mate was seeping. <br /> Selectman Richardson indicated that an easement would be needed from Mashpee Commons in order <br /> to apply for the grant. Mashpee Commons has continued to express interest in cottage housing. <br /> Chairman Abbott indicated that he would follow up with the Committee a regarding any additional <br /> details following the next sub-committee meeting. <br /> Discussion of 14 lots from'warrant <br /> The warrant to transfer land to conservation was defeated and conservation proponents had since <br /> expressed interest in working with the Affordable Housing Committee to W'Ork collaboratively toward <br /> identifying land for conservation. Mary waygan planned to attend a future meeting to further discuss <br /> t <br /> the issue. , <br /> Mr. Johnson inquired whether the Land Group had been convened and Selectman Richardson indicated <br /> that the meeting should occur in a week" time. Selectman Richardson confirmed that Mr. Johnson <br /> would be invited to attend and indicated that discussion needed to continue with the Town Planner to <br /> identify the best options for conservation, affordable housing and parcels that had already been <br /> identified for sewer. Ms. Egloff inquired about the list of 80 parcels and Selectman Richardson <br /> responded that the list had been reviewed a number of times and that the Land Committee would likely <br /> first review the 14 properties. Mr. Johnson recommended finding out the T'on's position when he <br /> attends the Land Committee meeting. Members of the Cottee include the Town Manager, <br /> Selectmen Cahalane and Richardson,the Town Planner and Mr. Johnson. <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> Discussion of Type of Housing to be Considered <br /> IVIS. Springer suggested.-that the greatest need for housing was for family and non-elderly single <br /> rentals. IVIS. Egloff referenced Cape Cod Yong Professionals and their effort to"Shape the Cape," <br /> recom end g that they be invited to spear to the Affordable Housing Committee at a future meeting <br /> to gain a better sense of their creeds. Ms. Springer offered to pull together more information about the <br /> housing needs of families and single,non-elderly residents. Ms. Springer will contact Young <br /> Professionals about attending a future meeting. <br /> Habitat Needs <br /> Chairman Abbott indicated that Habitat for Humanity would not be looping to develop additional <br /> parcels until late 2014 or 2015. Mr. Johnson added that Habitat currently had a full building schedule. <br /> The Chair stated that Habitat had expressed interest in three lots. <br /> OTHER BUSINESS AS REQUIRED <br /> Ms. Egloff recommended that Mr. Isbitz draft an editorial for the Enterprise regarding cottage housing. <br /> Mr. l bitz suggested providing a draft for the August meeting for feedback.
