residents of how affordable housing could benefit Mashpee. It was also suggested that the US <br /> Post mice could deliver a targeted mailing to specific areas in Mashpee and residents could be <br /> invited to attend an educational meeting. Chairman Abbott suggested another informational <br /> meeting, such as what was previously held at the Senior Center. Ms.-Springer supported the idea <br /> of hosting an informational meeting. Ms. Egloff suggested the possibility of allowing the high <br /> school drama club to perform a slit about affordable housing at Town Meeting or have the AV <br /> Club create a public service announcement. There was discussion regarding the expense of <br /> young adults living on Cape Cod. Mr. Johnson agreed to assist Ms. Egloff with brainstorming <br /> ideas and Ms. Egloff indicated that she would-look into it fin-ther. <br /> The Chair inquired about additional lots and lair. Johnson responded that there would be <br /> f <br /> additional considerations for the spring Town Meeting. Chairman Abbott indicated that 3 lots <br /> were on the list which would be ideal for Habitat for Humanity and expressed concern about the <br /> lots being transferred to the Conservation Committee. it was suggested that the AHC request <br /> notification of any land being reviewed by the Land Court and Mr. Johnson indicated that he <br /> would follow up with the Town Manager. The Chair stated that he would follow up with the <br /> Town Planner and Ms. Waygan regarding the list of 14 lots. <br /> Committee Members Reports <br /> Ms. Springer has been in contact with the Cape Cod Young Pro essionafs regarding a possible <br /> presentation to the Committee during the fall. Ms. Egloff inquired about the median income of <br /> Cape Cod Young Professionals' members and whether they would qualify for affordable <br /> housing. Ms. Egloff pointed out that here was no specific type of person who could qualify for <br /> affordable housing, and suggested that it could include young professionals. Ms. Springer also <br /> contacted Leila Botsford regarding housing need information for the August meeting. The Chair <br /> � g g <br /> indicated that Mashpee Commons may be presenting in August. <br /> Chairman Abbott recommended that any comments regarding the three Planning Board Articles <br /> be forwarded to Mary Waygan. Mr. Johnson indicated that the Articles were discussed at the <br /> Lard Group meeting but that it was a wording change and he did not see any reason to oppose it. <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> Request to Join AHC <br /> The Chair reported that interest had been expressed from Michelle Toby regarding Affordable <br /> Hod sing Committee membership, although here was not currently an open position. Michelle <br /> had experience in affordable housing and was a member of the wampanoag Tribe, although it <br /> was noted that she was not a resident of Mashpee. Where was interest in encouraging Ms. Toby' <br /> involvement, either in her hone.town or as a represenuffive of the Tribe, and the Chair indicated <br /> that he would follow up with the Town Manager and Ms. Toby regarding her residency and <br /> possible involvement. <br /> OTR BUSINESS AS REQUIRED <br /> Chairman Abbott reported that Mashpee Village improvements had been stalled due to a $2 <br /> million shortage and Ms. Egloff recommended that they also provide an update at a future <br /> meeting. The Chair will follow up with Mashpee Village. <br /> 2 <br />
