The Chair recommended that each member consider ideas for such a <br /> 4 list. It was noted that the Affordable Housing Committee had not been informed of the loss of <br /> the affordable housing unit. The Chair added that any excess funds received from the sale of the <br /> unit at the-market rate would be returned to the Town for the Affordable Housing Trust. Mr. <br /> Isbitz indicated that he had begun an editorial and wished to forward the completed draft to <br /> Committee members for comments. <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> Main Street village Report <br /> The Chair reported that HAC had been hired to monitor and report to the Town annually <br /> regarding the activities at Nbin Street village. It was discovered that HAC had reported it to the <br /> Assessor's office but that they may not have communicated the information to any ether Town <br /> offices, Boards or Committees. Mr. Isbitz recommended reviewing individuals who would <br /> receive the information regarding a foreclosure in an effort to avert future losses of affordable <br /> properties- Chairman Abbott will discuss the issue with the Town Manager. There was <br /> agreement that the Committee should have fonnal notification of possible foreclosures. <br /> Selectman Richardson reported that it would not happen again as a process had been put in place. <br /> CPC Workshop <br /> Chairman Abbott indicated that he and Ms. Springer had attended the workshop and noted that <br /> there were some changes, such as funding some recreational properties or funding preservation <br /> but not maintenance. The Chair also referenced"Bio-Map fC" which was developed by Natural <br /> Heritage and would identify protected animals in Mashpee and could be located on <br /> www.cpc.com. Ms. Egloff recommended ae a ng the amount of funds available for CPC <br /> funding for affordable housing projects. The Chair indicated that he would follow up with the <br /> Assessor's office. There was discussion about Mate funds not yet received by the Town. Ms. <br /> off emphasized that she would like to know annually the available funds in reserve, including <br /> l <br /> County funds to maintain a -an official record of the Committee. <br /> Mashpee Housing Report <br /> To be discussed at the next meeting. <br /> How to Build Understanding f Affordable Housing <br /> Mr. Johnson and Ms. Egloff net to discuss ways to better communicate the affordable housing <br /> needs of Mashpee. Mr. Johnson had requested information from Human Resources regarding <br /> the number of teachers working and how many purchased homes in Mashpee. Mr. Johnson <br /> referenced Cape Cod Five's list of careers and corresponding salaries commencing Just after <br /> college, adding that many would qualify for affordable housing. Mr. Johnson planned to draft a <br /> document to share with others. <br /> Regarding promoting the concept of affordable housing,Ms. gloff suggested that, in addition to <br /> discussing the issue with influential groups in lshpee, students in the drama club could depict <br /> the experience of needing affordable housing, from the perspective of a young person and their <br /> 3 <br />
