i <br /> Mashpee ee Affordable Housing Committee <br /> Meeting Minutes <br /> December 2,2014 at :30 pm -. <br /> Wa uoit Meeting Room,Mashpee Town Hall <br /> Present: Chain=Walter Abbott, Berkeley Johnson, Allan Isbit <br /> Absent: Kalliope Egloff, Mafie Stone <br /> CALL To ORDER <br /> Chairman Abbott opened the meeting at 6:35 p.m. and the roll was called. <br /> APPROVAL of MINUTES-October 7,2014 <br /> Meeting minutes could not be approved as a quorum of attending members was not present. Chairman <br /> Abbott announced that, due to her recent appointment to the waste Management Committee, FIs. <br /> gloff would be resigning from the Affordable Housing Committee. A letter of resignation would be <br /> submitted to the Board of Selectmen. Members were in agreement that lis. Egloff s letter be accepted <br /> with regret and with commendation, <br /> MOTION: Mr.Isbitz made a motion that the Committee sena a letter of thank you and <br /> commendation for Ms. gloff's work. Mr. Johnson seconded the motion. All voted <br /> unanimously. <br /> OLD USIN SS <br /> Mashpee village <br /> John conomos was present, from Mashpee Village,to update the Committee on the stags o <br /> Mashpee's largest cluster of affordable housing 145 units). Mr. Economos confirmed that the site was <br /> the lamest affordable housing cluster on Cape and confirmed that upgrades had been added as a result <br /> of re-financing in August 2014. The name was changed to The New Mashpee Village, L.P. Mr. <br /> conomos distributed a handout to members desc ibing the changes. <br /> The total project cost was $19.5 million and has been a very tight.budget. The work scope included <br /> seer systems i the apartments,kitchen gut rehabs,bathroom' gut rehabs if not updated widiin the <br /> last 2 years, circuit brewers,panels and outlets, new fire alarm system and new water mains. <br /> Additionally, a new waste water treatment system was being added with all new sever lines and 50 <br /> septic systems would soon be decommissioned. Fighting was being added to parking lots and all <br /> parking lots and roads would be paved. New roofs would be added to the 14 multi-family buildings <br /> and gutters would be added. New front doors would be installed and hot water heaters replaced. <br /> Seven units were handicap accessible, 3 completely barrier free, and one additional unit would be <br /> constructed. <br /> Funding for the project included HOME,the Affordable Housing gust Fund and tax credits. In <br /> addition,there would be project based MRVPs and eight project based Section 8 units, as well as the <br /> mental health related FCF pr gtam. Fifteen market rate apartments would also be available, offering <br /> goad spectrum community, without impacting the number of mailable affordable units. Mr. <br /> conomos clan"fxed that of the 145 its, 11.0 were apartments-and 35 were single family hones. lir. <br /> conomos added that the single family homes had been previously renovated. In total,the rentals <br /> offered 72/one bedrooms, 8/two bedrooms, 2 , three bedrooms and /four bedrooms.
