MEETINGS/CONTACTS—Jim and Lynne met with the Director and two
volunteers of the local Samaritans Agency. They offered to contact on a
regular basis five Mashpee seniors who are depressed. She will meet with
the Director later this week to refer five clients to them.
Also, Lynne met with Theresa Davies, Elder Services Protective Services.
worker, who is now covering Mashpee. She also met with the President of
the Capers Club to discuss referrals for our Outreach Assistance Fund to
which the Capers contribute money. She attended a dinner, sponsored by
Cape Cod Healthcare, to introduce staff of the Upper Cape COA's to three
new physicians. Finally, she attended the monthly meeting of the Mashpee
Human Services committee and the Upper Cape Consortium.
NEW BUSINESS — Frank Kelly was welcomed to the Council, who voted
in support of his appointment to that body. The appointment of course will
not be made official until approved by the Board of Selectmen.
It was decided that a separate Council meeting will be held to discuss ways
to promote and expand Mashpee seniors' interest and participation in
activities at the Senior Center. That meeting was scheduled for Sept. 26.
There being no further business, a motion was made and seconded to
adjourn the meeting at 10:30 a.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Marij o Gomey
Secretary
i
i
i
