DIRECTORS REPORT <br /> APRIL-2010 <br /> MEETINGS <br /> The Director attended the following meetings over the past two month: Upper Cape <br /> Consortium, Cape COA's, Human Services Committee, Town Department Head, <br /> Barnstable County Human Service, Upper Cape COA Directors, CAPECOAst,Mashpee <br /> Food Pantry, etc. <br /> REIKI <br /> A REIKI program managed by June Robillard and conducted once a month for free to <br /> Mashpee residents was in need to relocate from The Brain Center in New Seabury. Molly <br /> Reis called to request use of the Senior Center. We agreed to operate it out of our <br /> building and allocated the third Friday of the month for this purpose. The first month was <br /> very successful. <br /> OPERATING BUDGET <br /> Operating budget recommendations were submitted and forwarded through the Finance <br /> Committee to Selectmen to Town Meting where the budget was approved. It will require <br /> some reduction in available hours for certain staff. <br /> FORMULA GRANT <br /> Governor Patrick continues to recommend $7.00 per senior in the 2011 budget. <br /> CRIMINAL SYSTEMS HISTORY BOARD <br /> The Director attended a CORI training session in Chelsea as a condition for continued <br /> utilization of the program. We process several hundred CORI's a year. <br /> AARP TAX PROGRAM <br /> In excess of 180 tax returns were filed by the two individuals doing tax preparation in this <br /> AARP sponsored program. <br /> ACADEMY OF LIFELONG LEARNING <br /> Ilsa Persig has agreed to act as a liaison to the ALL program. We anticipate additional <br /> classes will be offered here commencing in September. <br /> ESCCI <br /> Susan Clegg, a registered nurse, is now serving as the Mashpee COA board <br /> representative to Elder Services. <br /> COMPUTER CLASSES <br /> Classes are planned to begin in June using a one on one concept. <br /> STUDENT GOVERNMENT DAY <br />
