3 <br /> Community Preservation Committee <br /> Minutes <br /> January 17, 2007 <br /> OLD BUSINESS: <br /> MHS Treatment acilr <br /> The Committee reviewed the pending matter related to the Ma hpee High <br /> School (MHS) wastewater treatment facility. The Committee is presently <br /> reviewing the potential for CPA projects such as.the Housing Authority's <br /> Breezy Acres Expansion project to tie-in to the treatment facility. An in- <br /> depth discussion followed. It was noted that representatives from the <br /> Town and School Department are presently working with the Department <br /> of Environmental Protection (IEP)regarding compliance issues. Tie <br /> treatment facility i presently out-of compliance and the School <br /> Department is seeping options to maintain compliance. Dialogue has been ' <br /> ongoing this past year regarding the DP's decision to place the area in a <br /> i <br /> Zone II Groundwater Protection district. Mandates as directed by the <br /> Town Charter applicable to this matter were also.discussed. <br /> p.m. Ms. Kane left the meeting to attend a Planning Board meeting. <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> Gerald Um na—Algonguin Investment Trust: X00 <br /> Gerald Uml*na, Algonquin Investment Trust presented a revised <br /> submission of his Community Preservation Funding application to the <br /> Committee for review. An enlarged map of the seven acre parcel was <br /> presented by the applicant for additional review. Benefits of the open <br /> space parcel to enhance the Mashpee wildlife Refuge were considered. <br /> The Town of Ma.shpee owns an abutting three acre parcel. The subject <br /> property is located in the John's Pond area. <br /> To date, a certified appraisal has not been received. The applicant <br /> indicated them are vari <br />
