3 Community Preservation Committee Minutes January 17, 2007 OLD BUSINESS: MHS Treatment acilr The Committee reviewed the pending matter related to the Ma hpee High School (MHS) wastewater treatment facility. The Committee is presently reviewing the potential for CPA projects such as.the Housing Authority's Breezy Acres Expansion project to tie-in to the treatment facility. An in- depth discussion followed. It was noted that representatives from the Town and School Department are presently working with the Department of Environmental Protection (IEP)regarding compliance issues. Tie treatment facility i presently out-of compliance and the School Department is seeping options to maintain compliance. Dialogue has been ' ongoing this past year regarding the DP's decision to place the area in a i Zone II Groundwater Protection district. Mandates as directed by the Town Charter applicable to this matter were also.discussed. p.m. Ms. Kane left the meeting to attend a Planning Board meeting. APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: Gerald Um na—Algonguin Investment Trust: X00 Gerald Uml*na, Algonquin Investment Trust presented a revised submission of his Community Preservation Funding application to the Committee for review. An enlarged map of the seven acre parcel was presented by the applicant for additional review. Benefits of the open space parcel to enhance the Mashpee wildlife Refuge were considered. The Town of Ma.shpee owns an abutting three acre parcel. The subject property is located in the John's Pond area. To date, a certified appraisal has not been received.
