Coll mu .ty Preservation Committee Minutes December 11 Zoo Deborah l a i Records Retention/Consolidation: (continued) Ms. lami indicated that a dedicated computer equipped with the software and a scanner would make minutes available on the'Town's website almost immediate, As a result of the large scanning task, Ms. I ami suggested the equipment be dedicated to this project only. It was noted the Information Technology(IT) Director has a proposal before the Capital Improvement Program(CIS') Committee relative to the upgrade of tape back up hardware. Ails. l ami was requested to seek information from comparable towns to see if this type of project has been completed With CPA funding. reg. or: 10 Acre Site at South Cape Beach: Greg Taylor, Director of Public Works resubmitted his request to fund the access project to the 10 acre site at South Cape Beach. The CIC voted t recommend the article to the October 2007 Town Meeting,but it was defeated since the explanation of the proposal was not clearly stated. The funding explanation shouid have included the need to provide an all Breather surface for Y mile to a stone parking area to provide for 10 parking spaces. There was also concern from a resident on whether it was legal to use Wills Work Road. It was disclosed the Town has an agreement with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to traverse the goad to access the 10 acre parcel. It was agreed the CPC would obtain a copy of the agreement for additional review. The original estimate in August of 2006 for the project was $70,000. The projected cost has increased to $80,000 since the date for construction has been changed to September,2008* It was noted the 2000' dirt road called Wills Work Road is not a private road and it is in very poor condition needing improvements to allover the public to access the parcel for recreational purposes. The upgrade to the road will not change the layout of the roadway.
