4
Community Preservation Committee
Mmo ut s
December l 1, 2007
Greg.Tar:
Extension of Route 130 Bikeway/Sidewalk:
At the request of the Board of Selectmen, Mr. Taylor brought the
extension of the Route 130 bikeway/sidewalk expansion project to the
CPC for funding consideration. Due to safety and the support of the
conYunity for the beneficial linkage to Heritage Park, the Selectmen
prioritized the project for funding. It was noted the proposal is before the
Capita Improvement Program C1P for additional funding consideration.
The project will extend the existing sidewatk 4,200 feet from the Heritage
Park recreational facility to Pickerel Cove Road. Signali ation is also
included in the cost assumption of$236,000. W. Taylor indicated the
price has been reduced from the initial request of$355,000. To reduce
cost constraints, the DPW will serve as construction manager for the
project and use the Town's annual bid prices for some of the intended
work assumptions.
To date, $60,000 has been expended by the Town for project design. The
Cape Cod Concession has mitigation funds in the amount of$176,000
dedicated for use in the Town of 1 la.shpee. The project was also approved
as a warrant article at the May 2007 Town Meeting.
It was noted the residents of the Pickerel Cove neighborhood are highly
supportive of the project and have urged the sidewalk/bikeway to move
forward in c neem for safety.
OLD BUSINESS:
Brad Tri uashn Terms Courts
Due to a family matter, Mr. Fripp was unable to attend the meeting. It
was agreed he would be invited to attend the CPC Committee's January 8,
2008 meeting.
