Community Preservation Committee Minutes March 11, 2008 OLD BUSINESS: Review of Motions for Annual Town Meeting warrant: (continued) The CPC Committee gave strong consideration to contribute 1 million in CPA funding to offset the purchase of the St. vmncent's property. If the article were approved by the Selectmen, the remaining balance would appear as a debt exclusion question on the May 2008 ballot. It was agreed the.estimated available revenues would be verified by the Town Accountant and the Committee would defer approval until further information is obtained from the Division of Fisheries and wildlife. NEW BUSINESS; Conununi1y Preservation Coalition—Membership Pro am: The Committee reviewed correspondence from the Community Preservation Coalition regarding their membership program. The member-based organization is asking each of the 119 Community Preservation Cony ittee's to join the Coalition and pay annual membership dues from their CPA administrative account. The Coalition, a state-wide organization works on the Community Preservation Act, and provides broad range of services and programs focusing on the needs of local CPC's. It was noted the Town of Barnstable has joined the Coalition. The dues for FY07 are established in accordance with the previous year's local CPA surcharge amount. The cost is $3,000 for a surcharge range o $750,000 to $1m. Additional information can be found on their website; vww.co un reservation.or .
