2 <br /> Community Preservation Collunitte <br /> Minutes <br /> December 9, 2008 <br /> Present: Wayne Taylor, lune I ommelrneyer, Ed Larkin, Richard Halpern, <br /> Evelyn Buschenfeldt, Ralph Shaw, Paula Peters <br /> Absent: Beverly Dane, Gus Frederick <br /> Meeting Called to Order by Chairman Taylor at 6:00 P.M. . <br /> Town Hall, Conference Room 41 <br /> MINUTES: <br /> Tuesdgy,November 18, 2008: <br /> Motion made by Mr. Larkin to approve the minutes of Tuesday, <br /> November 1 ,2008 as presented. . <br /> Motion seconded by Ms. Buschenfeldt, <br /> VOTE: Unanimous'. <br /> Ms. Peters, Mr. Halpern abstained, <br /> -COMMUNICATION AND CORRESPONDENCE: <br /> Ed Larkin, CPQ Clerk indicated that he contacted the State.Community <br /> Preservation Commission hotline with specific questions regarding the use <br /> of CPA funds. It was disclosed the State has a more liberal interpretation <br /> regarding the use of CPA funds for historic projects. For example', <br /> furniture that is historical in nature such as pews and additional types of <br /> ftmiishing for historic purposes can be CPA funded. However,typical and <br /> modern furnishings cannot he funded for other projects such as the <br /> Mashpee village affordable housing project. <br /> APPOINTMENTS AN H A fNGS: <br /> David Pocknett—Old Indian Meetinghouse Restoration Pro#ect: <br /> David Poc nett, vice-Chair of the Mashpee wampano g Indian Tribal <br /> Council presented invoices to the CPC.relative to Phase 1,the restoration <br /> of the Old Indian Meetinghouse, a$325,000 CPA, project approved at the <br /> October 2007 Town fleeting. Invoices from C.H.Newton Builders, the <br /> amount of$1,569.12 and $147,016.68 were distributed for-exterior work <br /> completed at the Meetinghouse location. Work includes demolition, <br /> excavation, concrete forming, masonry, structural wall studs, exterior <br /> framing, siding, roofing, doors and windows, etc. For verification <br /> poses several CPC members agreed to tour the facility. <br />
