to Community Preservation Act Committee Minutes September 21, 2010 LLUSON ASSIGNMENTS Santuit Pond Darn date: The Santuit Pond Dam has failed compliance with the Office of Dam Safety and the Department of Conservation and Recreation. The Town of Mashpee CPA has faded preliminary engineering vorperformed by Weston& Sampson engineers. An application for CPA funding is anticipated to be submitted by the Mashpee Department of Public Works for the repair of the Santait Pond Dain. The Town of Mashpee and the Town of Barnstable are expected to contribute funding to offset their share of the repair cost, an estimated $47,000 each which amounts to 25% of the total project cost. The remainder of the cost will be federally funded. The Santuit Pond Dain, located in the Town of Mashpee is deemed a potential hid for the Town of Barnstable should the dans fail. In accordance Ylith regulations unposed by the National Resources Conservation Services(NRCS),repairs to the dam must be substantially completed by December 31, 2011. COMMUNICATIONS &CORRESPONDENCE Town Meeting rrant Review: A brief discussion'followed with respect to the October 2010 Town Meeng article to appropriate and transfer funds from the FY 2011 estimated Co,-n nunity Preservation revenues,the 10%reserves and Community Preservation Fund Budgeted Reserve. It was noted the CPA allocates funds through the %real estate tax surcharge to pay-off debt from previous Land Bank purchases. The debt payment for FY 2011 i $1,007,699. lust year,the DOR released Community Preservation Frust Fund disbursements in accordance with MGL,, Chapter 44B, §10. The Town of Mashpee CPA received a 31% match in FY201 o from the trust fund distribution. This year's distribution is 30.10%or$322,583.
