Community Preservation Committee <br /> Minutes <br /> December- 20-I I <br /> APPOINTMENTS &HEARINGS: <br /> Leila Botsford/Adrienne Tanner—Ppdate on Gree Acres ion Project: <br /> It was also disclosed the Breezy Acres affordable housing development is <br /> expected to connect to the wastewater treatment plant located on the adjacent <br /> property on which the Mashpee High School operates. The wastewater <br /> Treatment and Disposal Agreement has been executed by applicable parties. The <br /> Agreement is a noted win win for all pities. <br /> When discussing the.wastewater treatment system, it was referenced the septic <br /> design was prepared by Horsley&Witten, a Sandwich engineering fmn, and <br /> reviewed by the Town's Engineer Charles Rowley and also approved by-Town <br /> Counsel to fora. It was noted that a member of the Town's Sewer Commission is <br /> interested m giving input into the wastewater collection system, and there may be <br /> CJD requirements regarding due diligence for the project. It was agreed this <br /> matter would be further reviewed by the HAC in con,*unction with the MHA. <br /> It was explained Mashpee residents are given preference for housing-and the need <br /> is greater than the ten units to be provided as there is long wait list. The average- <br /> vait is 5-6 years. Due to the large wait list,the one bedroom non-elderly list has <br /> been closed. 'were is also a gait list for two and three bedroom family housing, <br /> with 199 currently on the list. The Asher's Fath elderly housing ofets some of _ <br /> the needs for senior housing, And,to date are on the list for housing at Breezy <br /> Acres. <br /> Next month,,the Mashpee Housing Authority will be before the Connnunity <br /> Preservation Counittee to review their application for the 'proposed Mashpee <br /> Housing Assistance Program, a local voucher program which would help <br /> Mashpee residents with needs such as short-term housing assistance,one-tine <br /> rental assistance and one-tine emergency assistance. <br />
