7 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> November 19,2012 <br /> A00 nt of Liaison Assi ent—Veterans Affairs: <br /> In discussing the matter of appointing a Selectmen liaison to the Veterans Affairs, <br /> it was determined the Special Events Committee would work in conjunction with <br /> the Veterans Affairs to ensure special events are duly advertised and planned. It <br /> is the goal of the Selectmen to have the Board of Selectmen liaison to the Special <br /> Events Committee work with the Special Events Committee on Veterans affairs. <br /> It was noted that currently,the Special Events Committee is developing a <br /> calendar of Veterans events with the VFW Commander to publicize upcoming <br /> events as appropriate. <br /> POINTME S &HEARINGS: <br /> P!bli He n —Spgcial Events A lication—Mgslipeo Chganberof Commerce: <br /> The Board of Selectmen opened the Public Hearing on the application of the <br /> Chamber of Commerce for the Annual Mashpee Christmas Parade. The parade is <br /> scheduled to take place on Saturday,December 8, 2012 at 5:30 p.m. The parade <br /> route will be as follows: start at the Mashpee Library, left onto Steeple Street, left <br /> onto Market Street, right onto North Street,right onto Greene Street, left onto <br /> Steeple Street,right onto Falmouth Road(Route 28), left onto Donna's Lane, <br /> right onto Commercial Street. The parade ends at the Southcape Village <br /> designated parking lot. <br /> Chamber representative Mary Lou Palumbo was in attendance to discuss the <br /> Special Events application with the Board of Selectmen. Ms. Palumbo expressed <br /> appreciation to the Town of Mashpee and to the business community for their <br /> support. It was noted that three bands have been added to the parade this year to <br /> bring forth a total of eight, and possibly nine bands. This year's theme is The <br /> Spirit of Giving. A block party is planned in Southeape Village after the parade. <br /> Being no comment, the Board motioned to close the Public Hearing. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Cahalane to close the Public Hearing. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman O'Hara. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4.0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman Richardson,yes Selectman Sherman,yes <br /> Selectman Taylor,absent Selectman Cahalane,yes <br /> Selectman O'Hara,yes Opposed,none <br />
