i
Conservation COMission
April. 4. 1991
Page 8.
We will issue this to you in writing and you will have ten days top eal.
I take it you know the appeal procedures and if not you can seek advice, I will
give you the number for DEP in Lakeville,
Pis NE: Yes, would you give nye the number, Thank you.
3 's IsLAND DIpRovalmT ASSOC,, request for an Amended Order of Condi t ions
to include installation of a gas main. Bob Dowling of Colonial Gas Co. and Michael
orselli of Holmes & McGrath presenting, V. Louise Behnnan stood down.
The project was preva usl.y approved and is under construction to reconstruct the
road and install a water rain. Abutter receipts were presented.
olordai Gas wishes to install a two-inch gas main, shown in yellow on the plan,
as requested by residents, prior to paving taking place. Service to the houses
will require an 18 ,inch deep trench. A sediment fence has been am tailed with
erosion control measures.
bir. Coffey asked the equipment type and duration of disturbance for, the installation
of the gas?
r. Dowling advised a trenching machine to be used with a time frame of 2-3days t
put in the main. The number of people to be served with gas is unknown. Any crossing
can be done now and left in place so the road can be paved. The main will not tie
into anything; there will be another filing to make a comection' at the proposed end
up the street at the "tib".
Mrs, s=ons asked if the commission would be notified when individual lines are go:tng
in?
Mr. Sherman stated they would have to be filed for by the homeowners. He felt it does
make sense to do this at this time. Concerning the siltation screens, he asked if
Colonial Gas would take responsibility for maint ining them and questioned whether
they would come under the performance bond that applies to this project?
Ms kik did not feel they did. she stated as the road is already open, their work
is less intrusive,
Mrs. Simmons stated the siltation screens should be looked at carefully and re-
established where necessary:
Mr, York stated individual service lines to houses can't be covered under this.
kir. Sherman asked that the Commission be notified for each hookup to see If a filing
by the homeowner is necessary. He was informed Colonial Gas absorbs the costs of
filing.
Mr. Coffey asked if there would be any hookup that would present a danger and was
told there is one where water is present under the road.
Mr. Ioreyer stated they will be on the wa ter side of the road; even wi th the stree
sleeve, they will have to dig up the road.
r. Dowling hoped they will be off the paged surface with the gas main for the tie-in.
Mr. Borsell.i suggested including the known services and if not installed within three
years they would request an extension.
