If this was over the eel grass beds, that is whir we kept <br /> it...out of_the., eel__grass, beds.. <br /> ESROSIER : I didn't see any delineation of eel grass beds out here but it's obvious <br /> the shortest distance to deep water is straight out and he diose to go that route. <br /> HAYES: well, I think we tried to come in where the other boats are going. You say you can <br /> reach it from where we are by extending in special. construction. I say than is just <br /> s good as building an extension to a dock. Because some guy sitting behind a desk <br /> made a definition doesn't make it not so in my mind. I think the damage here to the <br /> environment is something we ought to bring out and address even if it means bringing <br /> this thing to light and having some other parties getting involved. You don't correct <br /> things by hiding your head in the sand. If we don't take a stand at some point in <br /> time, we might as well all stay home. I have better things to do with my evenings. <br /> OFFEY. what would you like to see happen tonight? <br /> HAVES: I would like to work out an order of conditions with this Commission that <br /> would allow Mr, west to have his ramp as allowed by law. <br /> OFFEY: It is allowable by law., is that actually what it i <br /> HAYES: Yes, it is allowable, it's part of the float system itself because of the <br /> harbormaster's permit and the�war the regulations are written. Mr. west is allowed <br /> to have a bottom-anchored float permitted_by the harbormaster that connects to his <br /> walkover structure. I would, as his representative, go out on a limb and say that <br /> if you wanted to make a condition that this permit expires upon his transfer of the <br /> property, I wouldn't have a problem with that. If you would want to say that the <br /> ramp has to be extended to the enact location of the exIsting float, we could live <br />
