A sketch was provided showing where the eight
tons of sand was placed in relation to the landmarks of the house. The Sabatia
report stated the sand raised the level of the beadappro im t ly a little more
than one inch.
The Chairman read from the Sabatia report dated 20 June 1990.
Mrs. Simmons asked if Mr. Class would be able in the future to nourish the beach
from his-own property.
Mr. Dorton advised it is the most difficult way, but it is possible.
Mr. Sherman expressed concern with continual beach nourishment, not only with
Mr. Glass, but anyone on that small pond.
Mr. Coffey listed the range of options available to the Commission: to permit
it as it is pre-existing; to condition it for further nourishment prohibit
further nourishment; and, as an after-the-fact, could order it's removal. In
the expert's report, it was pro-existing, has not changed substantially, eight
toms was added without permission, but the sand in place has not caused a
problem; getting the sand there was the issue*
Nor. Sherman stated another issue, for the future, is the cumulative effect, not
only on the Class property, but everywhere on the small pond.
