r Conservation Commissi.on `
Larch 22, 1990
Page 2.
Patrick Coffey arrived at 8:30 p.m.
8:30 William H. Burke, Lots 527 & 528Triton Way, Continued hearing. William
Shaw, Ken Rowell presenting. The work that was done was described and photos
were shown with the proposed additional work outlined. They will remove the
juniper plantings and seed to prevent erosion. The railroad tie retaining walls
will be replaced. Plantings will consist of Rosa Rugosa and Blue Rug Juniper.
Mir. Sherman asked if they were now getting into the other filing. fir. Shaw
stated they tried to pull back what they felt was a separate issue and only
propose what was affected by this construction.
Mr. Rowell advis ed he put the steel sheathing in and would like to start the
work of replacing the galls immediately; it is maintenance type work. The deck
is rotted and needs to be replaced. They would also like to put a canopy over
the porch.
Mr. Sherman agreed the walls should be replaced. The canopy would not require
a filing but the footings for the deck will, as would the excavation. He had
no objections to however this is dome. He questioned if the Notice of Intent
should be amended.
To BE CLOSED AT THE NEXT HEARING AFTER RECEIPT of AMDED NOTICE of INTENT AND
PLANS.
8:45 Egerton Development Corp, Stratford Ponds replication areas. Carl Grassetti
presenting. Devised plans were reviewed.
Mr. Sherman stated conceptually, it seems to be a better place to put the
replication.
Mr. Burns asked if a portion went back into the wetland,
Mr. Grassetti stated the other location did more damage. It is proposed that
the botanist lay it out on the upland portion, the Commission or agent loom
at it and if approval is given, they will go forward. He asked for two weeks
to allow the botanist to stake it out. i
CONTINUED TO MAY 31 1990 - 8:15 P.M*
9:00 Edward Steer, 279 Cranberry Ave, , continued_ hearing. Chris Costa
presenting. The area is on the northerly shore of John's Pond. It is 75 ft,
from the wetland resource area of John's Pond to the area for the driveway.
The septic is out of the Connission's jurisdiction, His only concern was not
o cause runoff from this site post-development; with the mitigating measures,
there will be less runoff. The area of the house will be recharged into drywells.
The proposed driveway is asphalt which will be ber ed and is out of the purview
of- the Comn scion. On the back end of the lot it drops off; they intend to leave
that area as a buffer zone for the pond. Plantings should be conditioned and the
area stabilized with ground cover.
Mr. Sherman asked if there will be alteration on the slope and Mr. Costa stated
no, but would not want to have the condition that nothing can go in there.
Mr. Sherman expressed more concern with a lawn,
