s
Conservation Commission
May 31 , 1990
Page 6.
Mrs. Simmons expressed concern with flood waters coming through.
Mr, Abrahamson stated the problem- of erosion is being eliminated,
Mr. Zeppenfeld stated the concerns for flooding are valid but it is an improvement
over what is there.
Mrs. Simmons asked for a written description of how they will get machinery in there.
Mr, Zeppenfeld was of the opinion the only Ivey issue is the excavation that will
occur.
Mrs. Simmons stated the entire bank is going to be disturbed and asked how they .
will address this area.
. Zeppenfeld stated three walls have been eliminated; a narrative was provided.
This would change any concern with the last two.
Mr. Sherman advised the reve etation plans address the problems.
Mr. Abrah'amson stated the areas being replicated is larger, At the toe of the slope
is a large amount of beach plum. It will be heav i-ly vegetated.
, Sherman suggested a monitoring plan, for several years, be written into the
Order of Conditions.
Mrs, Simmons inquired about the disposal of the asphalt.
Mr. Zeppenfeld offered to provide receipts; this can be stipulated in the Order of
Conditions to ensure proper disposal .
Mr. Coffey stated the systems look good. He asked, if the bank erodes, in the
future, what is going to happen to this breakout wall at Lot 1378 if subject to
hurricane force?
Mr, Zeppenf.eld stated the wall would still function. There is extensive growth
f beach plums and it will be vie 1 l protected, If a storm gashes some of the so i 1
they would fill it.
Mr. Grotzke asked the Commission's thoughts on their reconstructing the dune and
building a walkover structure and revegetat i ng to alleviate concern for a breach
at .that site.
Mrs. Simmons stated they could amend at that point. She asked if the footprints
will remain the same?
Mr. Grotzke stated they may change somewhat, it would be up to the owner.
Mr. Zeppenfeld advised they registered deed restrictions with the Land Court for
the number of bedrooms, four. The systems are oversized,
Mrs. Simmons was concerned that a change in footprint may change the situation on
those two lots, if the Commission felt that the footprints on the last three lots
could not be changed, would they be amenable to a restriction's
Mr. Grotzke stated he would lice to address the septic now and come in and discuss
future plans-, for the area later.
