s
MASHPEE CONSERVATION COMMISSION
MINUTES of JUNE 21F 1990
Commissioners Present: Gertrude Simmons ; v. Louise ehr' an;
Harry Desrosiers ; Duncan York; Patrick Coffey.
The meeting was called to order at 7 ;15 o.mW
Michael Grotke advised they were before the Commission to finalize
the scope of work, overview of the landscape plan and to discuss the
road layout to place then in their permanent location. There is n
change for the septic. They will be coming in later for an amended
order of conditions and separate Notice of Intent for the driveways.
NOTE: The previously scheduled 7 : 00 p#rte. time slot on June 28 for
the discussion of landscape design will be relinquished.
Brian Zeppenfeld stated there were two concerns, scope of work/
construction activity and vegetation. A photographic documentation
with narrative was completed for a general overview.
They will begin with #1378 , filling crosses over onto two lots . They
will put a silt fence around the property shown as a dashed and dotted
line n the plan by Al. Abrahamson. The area is level and Bras sed;
there is no landscaping other than grass to be replanted.
Mrs. Simmons asked him to define the work limit; she suggested hay-
bales instead of a silt screen.
Mr. -Zeppenfeld advised a visible barrier is necessary and Mrs. Simmons
agreed an orange fence would be adequate, He stated it could be cont-
inued the gest of the way 1365 through 1375 , A visual barrier would be
needed alone the coastal bank; the rest of the property could be an--
closed by a silt fence.
Ms Behrman asked if the- wal, ways are just for the houses and was told
they were.
On 1377 and 1378 there is Rosa Fugosa and Japanese Honeysuckle, gree
pines and one cedar tree, all going to be removed . There are extensive
plantings put in for ghat will be removed, After removal, the break-
out wall will be done. Excavation will be minimal for the wall and
small machinery will be utilized. The septic will carefully be lifted
into dace with a large crane.
Nis Simmons stated she would life some haybales along with the silt
fence in the back of this house, just to keep a work limit tight.
She questioned the drain size of the sand and was told they will visually
identify the sand.
Mr. Coffey asked if 1378 will be filled from behind the wall? It was
stated they will not bring equipment over it. Keeping the silt fence
back and doing the haybales is a better idea. In addition, they will
have a haybale rind. The landscape crews will then cote in. After
that there is asphalt removal to be taken to a recycle center; receipts
will be obtained.
