Also attendance were: Frank Hoft <br /> meyer.1 Carmine DeSimonep Pry Hicks: Thomas McGuire, Oliver P cknett, Vincent <br /> Lopez, Ernie Roberts, Louis Bo itto Virginia Landry and Dorothy Stone. <br /> Mrs. DeLory read the folly aloud: "Notice is hereby given of a con-w <br /> tinbLance of a Public Hearing under the provisions of G,*L& Chap. 131, Sec. 40 and <br /> Chap, III Art. III of the Town of Mashpee Conservation by-law on Wed., January <br /> 102 1979 at 7:30 P.I . at Mashpee Torn Ball on the notice of Intent filed by the <br /> F <br /> Torn of Mashpee to replace ineek .nd" material removed in the storm of February <br /> 1978 at Barrier Beach, Mashpee., Ma.; .n accordance with plans on file with the <br /> Conservation Commission.' <br /> Mrs. DeLory said that she has had conversations with DEQE engineers and <br /> Richard Dorcas of the Vederal Disaster Recovery Team., who have advised the Com- <br /> mission to continue this a minims of ten weeks., or more.. until the en on- <br /> mental. impact study is made. Mr. Hicks said that the contract for the study <br /> has been awarded to Camp, Dresser & McKee. <br /> Mr. Hicks further said that the Town has applied for assistance for are <br /> storing Barrier Beach under the Mderal Disaster Recovery Program or HUD. The <br /> HUD guidelines are much more restricted than applying under the Federal Dis- <br /> aster. We weri3 apparently not eligible under Federal Disaster because it has <br /> to b'e man-e ade and maintained to be eligible. He further said that what we <br /> propose to material <br /> is restore Barrier Beach with like obtained in. the ge�n� <br /> p <br /> eral area of the existing beach. <br /> a <br /> Mrs. Studley asked if part of that land will be privately owned lard as <br /> well as T awn of Mashpee land* Mrs* Sloane said that the Town of Mashpee doesn't <br /> have any land there m that it is wed by New Seabury Corporation and the Audubon <br /> Society, Mr. Hicks said that he received a call from the Federal. Disaster Re� <br /> covery Team and he referred then to the Selectmen to give the technical answer <br /> s fax as ownership is concerned. As far as they are concernedo concernedfrom the coastal <br /> zone maps it is privately owned. Since the storm., they no longer wish to claim <br /> it. fir.
