-
*30 P.M. Hearing
Robert Allen Maxim, 177 Timberland Drive, Mashpee
continuance was issued for the above hearing due to the Fact that no one
arrived to present to the Board the intent.
Emr en ,Aion -- Proposal of Dr. Edna Sobel
The Board unanimously voted that emergency action should be taken on the
proposal submitted by Dr. Edna Sobel on her property located onJohn's Pond
off Hooppole Road.
Bluff at Ma.usha
w
Pauline.
I have a memorandum from Marilyn regarding a phone call from Bob Stevens at
DEQEw It pertains to New Se .bury. Chris Iueblear met with them to discuss
the bluff. Two different schemes were talked about -- a long-term and a
short--term scheme of a. stone mound. or revetment structure to anchor` the bank.
Engineer, Phil Holmes presented the scheme for long term (essentially the
same as the Commission s-uggested). Bob Stevens pointed out ooncerns that
DEQE and the Commistion. might have --. beach nourishment and about putting the
stone mound or structure at as gentle an angle as possible for ware reflection,
There are a. couple cottages Endangered. They talked about what can be done now
as an emergency status. Chris Kuebler discussed a, temporary wooden bulkhead
being placed on the section of the bank in front of the houses being threatened.
An emergency status can be granted if a state agency or town agency such as the
Building Inspector, Board of Health or Conservation Commission orders that the
work should be done, The Conservation Commission can be called in as ars issuing
authority to make a determination and, therefore, ore, issue an emergency allowing
certain wank if it can provide emergency protection. New Seabury was told to
come up with whatever they can in terms of an engineering drawing or sketch work
and then apply to the Commission. They were reminded that they have a valid
Order of Conditions that allows then to place compatible fill over the bank.
Chris Kuebler mentioned that the problem seemed to be stemming from water run-off
from Trihton Circle running down through the entry way. There 'is not adequate
drainage in through there and work 'is being done 'to correct this situation out-
side the Conservation Commission's jurisdiction. 'Bob Stevens told l Sebury
that any permit granted for thin type of shore construction should also include
a. dry well system6
Wayne: Phil Holmes was suppose to propose something but I haven't seem it.
Pauline: The only thing that I have from' Phil Holmes regarding Maushop Village
s the drawin f the fence. 'It was amended to allow them to pint the fence in
certain a rea.s on I aushop Village.
Do And now they are saying that we should issue something under the
emergency provisions the act when they have knownfor gears that this was going
to happen. We set uta something that was very referable. l think we s uld stick
by our guns and make thea do it that way. I think we should insist on it on our
original order.
