MASHPEE CONSERVATION CCP-`' ISSICN <br /> NIASHPEE TOWN HALL <br /> MEETING of AUGUST 24, 198 <br /> The following members of the Mashpee Conservation Commission were <br /> present for the meeting: slice Chairpersonaullo h F. DeLory, <br /> Wayne Tavares and March Dardano. <br /> Kane Determination <br /> The builder for Mr. & Mrs, Kane met with the Commission and the area <br /> where Mr. Kane plans to build his house was viewed on the plot plan <br /> As was previously discussed at the Comm* ssion' s meeting of August 1. <br /> with Mr. & Mrs. Kane, the determination was that no filing is necessary <br /> to remove crown cover and brush within . 100..f eet of the water. <br /> DAvid. Smith, Monomoscoy Island Rd. <br /> Mr. Smith met with the Commission regarding a filing to spread sand and <br /> to backfill behind a seawall within loo feet of Great River on his prop- <br /> erty located on Dots 474, 475 and 476 Monomnoscoy Island Road, <br /> Mr. Smith explained that he had ars original permit for the work being <br /> doneā€¢, however, it expired. He said that the engineering .work has been <br /> done and the wall has been poured. He said that he lost 18 feet of land <br /> and three trees, He said that he would like to get an extension' to clean <br /> the place up. <br /> Pauline DeLory commented that upon doing an on-site inspection%two piles <br /> of sand had been dumped in back of the gall as well as on the front of <br /> the house, <br /> Mr. Smith said that he would like to spread the piles, put loam on it and <br /> plant grass. He said that he did not read the fine print on the order <br /> of conditions originally .s ued and neg .e ted to extend the permit, <br /> Wayne Tavares asked Mr. Smith if the area is eroding--" <br /> Mr. Smith replied that the rain is' washing it, He said that it would b <br /> better off when the work gets 'done. <br /> Wayne asked if this would be the end of the project <br /> Mr. Smith replied that they would like to spread it and put in loam and <br /> seed it, <br /> Wayne asked if it was part of the same protect <br /> Mr. Smith said 'yes t' . <br /> The order of conditions issued to Mr. Smith back in October 18 , 1981 <br /> which expired in 1982 were reviewed. <br /> The Commission took the hearing under advisement. No DEQE number has been <br /> . issued to date. <br />
