Min ites of Conservation commission <br /> Meeting of November 16, 1983 page <br /> Dock at 1154 Popon sset Island Road <br /> Chairperson Studley brought the Board up to date on what was happening <br /> with the dock being ' constructed at 1154 Poponesset Island Road. She <br /> explained that Hollander & Koblinsky want a cease and desist order <br /> however, that DEQE issued an extension to the superseding order of con- <br /> ditions which runs out in January. Mr. Hollander said that one of the <br /> plans was okay but another one did not show mean low water properly on <br /> the plan. Chairperson Studley explained that the original order was : <br /> issued on the project prior to approval of the town by-law by the Atty, <br /> General limiting docks to 45 feet in length. Dot said that it is her <br /> opinion that nothing can be done as everything is legal. She said that <br /> she has obtained a certified copy of the by-law Brom the town clerk and <br /> asked that it be seat to DEQE - eq sting that they specifically mention <br /> the particular by-lar as one of the conditions in their superseding <br /> orders. i <br /> f <br /> Conservation Plan <br /> A letter dated October 1 , 1983 from Robert L. Robes, Executive Director <br /> f Cape Cod Planning & Economic Development eras read into the minutes <br /> with reference to their comments on the town' s update of the conservation <br /> plan, The secretary was asked to send Joel Ferner a copy of the letter. <br /> Capi.ta.1 ReMLest <br /> The Commissions request for $10, 000 to be appropriated for the Conservation <br /> Fund for the purchase of land through the Capital Program Committee was <br /> denied as it is not considered a capital expense. <br /> Absences from M etro s <br /> The town' s recentby-law approved by the attorney general on October 12 , <br /> 1983 regarding absences from meetings was reviewed,, <br /> ��-0 ~d� <br /> Tra inRights - Cranberry s <br /> A letter dated October 19, 1983 from Mr. Wako Har u, requesting permission <br /> to trap the bogs recently acquired from Makepea a was reviewed by the <br /> Commission. Memos dated October 20 and November 7 from the Executive <br /> Secretary asking the Commission for a response were also reviewed. The <br /> secretary was asked to send a memo to the Executive Secretary stating that <br /> the Commission approves the contractor being responsible for designating <br /> g a <br /> trapper r .ah is and that they would 111e to know what types of traps wi l i <br /> be used. <br /> Check for Cranberries <br /> check in the amount of $18p412.20 was received by the Selectmen for the <br /> town' share of c anb '' ries harvested from the M epe ce cranberrybog. <br /> Discussion was rade on the C mmis i n using the money for conservation ex- <br /> penses such as bounds on new, property. Dorothy moved that the money be <br /> used from the cranberry crop to survey and place bounds on the town's land <br /> acq isi bion of the Makepeace property. Charlie seconded the motion. Al <br /> in favor. An article will be submitted for special town meeting. <br />
