`5 <br /> Meeting of January 25 , 1984 <br /> Conservation Commission Page <br /> Eleanor Harding Property <br /> chairperson Studley reviewed a letter from the Executive Secretary to <br /> Eleanor Harding dated January 25, 1984 stating that there has been a <br /> freeze on State money; however, there is still a chance to get the grant <br /> money which would be necessary to purchase her property along Moody Pond. <br /> Fuel Storage Permit <br /> The Commission reviewed a letter from the Chief of the Fire Department <br /> dated. January 10, 1984 asking them if any requirements must be met re- <br /> garding fuel storage aboveground on Popponesset Island Road. Chair- <br /> person Studley advised the Board that she spoke with the Chief' s secre- <br /> tary regarding the above matter stating that It was outside the Commis- <br /> sion' s jurisdiction of 100 feet. Charlie Buckingham asked that a copy <br /> of the letter be sent to the Board of Health. <br /> uashnet Talley Country Club <br /> copy of a letter dated December 13, 1983 from James Hoyte, Secretary <br /> of FA, to David Huse, Engineer for Quashnet Valley Country Club, was <br /> reviewed. It states that project changes have reduced the potential <br /> impact to the Quashnet River fisheries to the point where an EIR is n <br /> longer necessary. <br /> Half Tide marina <br /> public notice regarding application of Corps of Engineers permit from <br /> the Half Tide Marina was reviewed. Anyone wishing to comment is en- <br /> couraged to do so in writing by February 13 to Ralph Atkinson of the � <br /> Corps of Engineers. <br /> Maush Vi I la e Einer enc Pro 'ect <br /> Chairperson Studley advised the commission that she received a phone <br /> call stating that piles of debris were being dumped at the emergency <br /> pro ect at Maushop Village which was granted in order to stabilize the <br /> hank. The debris contained pipes from drains, stumps, etc. and was <br /> parked at the tap of the bank. Chairperson Studley said that she con- <br /> tacted <br /> n- <br /> tact d Pegg] Collins of Cape Cod Survey Consultants and t.old her t <br /> + report to the site and advise contractors. The next morning all had <br /> been removed before Chairperson Studley had arrived. Dorothy also <br /> commented that they have exceeded the project 50 feet or better and <br /> that the Commission has an obligation to have a Clerk of the Works at <br /> the site once a day, <br /> Fells Pond <br /> In a letter dated January 2 . 1984, the Fells ]fond Committee requests <br /> the Conservation Commission not to grant any further permits for beaches <br /> or dumping of sand at any present -beach on the pond as information has <br /> been received by the Committee that man-made beaches is one of the main <br /> causes of the increasing shallowness which encourages the growth of � <br /> plant life. <br />
