Attorney Wilson said that it was the access area down to the
beach. chairperson Studley said that it still did not give permission
to build that road, Attorney Wilson said that maybe it was a semantical
thug of whether an access area is a road and vehicles were driving over
it and that was the way that vehicles got down to the beach. He said
if you want to call it a road or call it ars access area, it is still go-
ing to be traveled by vehicles. He said that you can't plant grass and
expect heavy vehicles to drive over it,
,Jean Thomas said that this is the reason why we need to have Town counsel
assist us. She said that the commission members are not attorneys and
here they are dealing with an attorney.
Attorney Wilson said that maybe we have reached a point where it would
be appropriate to bring town counsel in and try and work the thine around.
He asked if it were possible to get town counsel to come to a meeting.
Jean Thomas said that she were sure if we requested his services, he
would come.
Chairman Studley asked for a. motion to retain town counsel. March Dardano
moved to retain town counsel. Jean Thomas seconded the motion. All in
favor-. None opposed.
Attorney Wilson suggested a meeting to try and resolve it. He asked for
special meeting. The Commission agreed to set the meeting for June 11
at p.m. if it is agreeable with town counsel. Attorney Wilson asked
if the members would go dawn and view the area. The members replied that
they have all been 'down,
conflict of Interest
Informal discussion centered around Wayne Tavares abstaining from issues
at proper times and whether or not he finds himself in embarrasing situa-
tions
itu -tions. Wayne said that he would seek advice from town counsel if he felt
he needed it and that he thinks he has abstained at proper times and can
make objective opinions. He said that he would live with whatever town
c nse.I decided,
Charlie Buckingham said that, he too, would live with whatever town
counsel say and what he recommends doing, He said that he would be re
signing from the Conservation commission'after this is over."
er.
