i s { MASH EE CONSERVATION COMMISSION iASPEE TOWN HALL Meeting of June 2 , 1984 The following members of the Conservation Commission were present for tonight' s meeting: Chairman Dorothy' F. Studley, Charles Buckingham, March Dardano, Stuart Peoples . Pauline F. DeLory, vice Chairman and Wayne Tavares were absent. B. Jean Thomas was present during the last portion of the meeting. Chairman Studley convened the meeting at ;o P* Me Hearing of Jeffrey lurad - Lot x#60, 138 Keel way - SE 3-355 Re : Construction and maintanance of a wood ' pile pier, steps , ramp and float which would extend 441 into the tidal waters of Great River. Mr. William Warwick representative , stated that the construction would be of a 44, pier coming down off of the bank at the rear of the house located at 138 Keel Way. This would involve stepping the walkway down the bank as shown on the plans to the elevation 6, carrying the pier over the wetland portion of the riverbank which would make it approximately 5' above the protected vegetation and thea stepping down after crossing the mean--low water and then going approximate lY 31 above mean-high water. The pier will extend 441 from the mean high water. It is fir. Warwick' s understanding of the relevant by-law that 5� from the zero mean-low water is required and that they would be well within that bar-lay. r. Warwick stated that he was well aware that they .were' dealing with many, many resources and were considering this as a coastal, project. He also expressed concern with the buffer zone and the land under the salt marsh because part of that area indicates that it is vegetated and it is also in a flood plain. There is also concern with land containing shellfish and fish runs ; but accord- ing to Mr. Warwick, it has been established in past and similar oases that shellfish beds are really i
