Marilyn distributed copies of vision statement for Mashpee drafted by the Selectmen
recently. Terme mentioned this has yet to be officially adopted by the Board. The Board
members have worked hard on this statement and a number of priority objectives and
programs designed to fully achieve the goals laid out in this statement.
Marilyn n also provided a flyer received from CORD announcing a meeting at CORD
offices on October 4. 2006 at which local disability commissions can become familiar
with CORD"s services and network with members of other commissions on the Cape.
Terrie reported the warrant for the October Torn Meeting has been approved and sent to
the printer. Bob assured her CART service will be available again. We discussed
providing large-print warrants and agreed to ask Kathleen Moore if she could prepare -
o copies. NOTE: After the meeting, Bob spore with Kathleen and learned she has been
in contact with the CART provider and intends to provide the urger screen for CART.
This will address the problems people had seeing the captioning at the May meeting. She
also will look into having the screen placed on the raised platform or some other elevated
position. She 'is planning to prepare copies the large-print warrants. Based on our
recommendation, she will prepare 30-40 copies.
Bill noted the absence of handicapped parking signs for the spaces near the entrance to
South Cape Beach. He said they had been missing all sneer. Earlier, Greg Taylor,
DPT,told Marilyn his information was that signs were present. Harvey Fri
