Mashpee Conservation Commission
Meeting of March 6 , 1986
Page Six
Mr. Landers-Cauley explained the terrain of Lot #11 and the
surrounding area. Ms . Behrman noted that there was a lot of
fill done at the location. It was not done by the applicant
or any agent of the applicant . Some areas are flooded at mean
high water. There is a herring catch in the area. Landscaping
ideas have not as yet been determined by the applicant . The
purpose of the riprap is because in that area, they could not
get a 2-to-one slope . The engineers feel that a 2-to-one slope
is a manageable slope for landscaping, maintenance , etc . Mr. Landers-Cauley
indicated on the plan where the work limit will be .
Mr. Merrow noted that there is a dry-well already set in place .
Erosion is taking place there at this time and outside the line
of hay bales shown on the map. It appears that the bales will
be washed out and down the slope . Mr. Landers-Cauley expressed
that they do not have any control over the contractor. He said,
"If you feel that he is doing or not doing something as you wish
and it is stated in the Order of Conditions , you should look into
it . If they are not following the orders of conditions , someone
should look into it, that' s all there is to it . "
Ms . Behrman questioned the direction of drainage near and around
the sump area. Mr. Landers-Cauley explained that drainage would
be away from the house and would go in a probable two directions
and indicated on the plan the directions . He said that the water
would be contained on the lot .
Ms . duPont called for further questions , comments or discussion.
As there were none , she declared the hearing closed and stated
that the proposal would be taken under advisement .
Cartel Development Corporation (Holmes and McGrath, Inc . - Agent )
This application is to construct and maintain a single-family
dwelling with attached porch, garage and deck.
