Mashpee Conservation Commission
Meeting of March 2 , 1986
Page siX
and it is covered under the tax bill in the name of Cartal
Development Corp. Mr. Rosenberg noted that presumably, ably, the
land court could require changes in the dimensions . Mrd Bergman
allowed that this could occur. He explained at some length
The proposed project is located on a coastal bank, A driveway i
also proposed. There will be a septic system. Water source '.s
Highwood Water Company. There is a marsh at the foot of' the bark.
The area of activity is upwardof the flood hazard zone . Hay bales
will be staked at the work limit at wherere-grading is proposed,
The bank is quite stable and well-vegetated. There is no intention
to do any cutting of - tre r any vegetation on that hill. The
roof will be guttered. Dry wells can be put in.
Ms . Jaca.bson inquired as to whether or not the house could be moved
back to a. more level area..
Ms . Be hrman pointed out that the driveway is certainly at some
point within too 1 of the wetland . Mr. Bergman stated that that
porton within loo' has already been covered by an order of Condi--
tions .
Ms . Behr pan noted that some additional filling had been done on the
right of the house . Mr. Bergman stated that this is so . Ms . Behrr an
is concerned that the re-grading is very close to the marsh, It is
to the very top of the bank, she stated that it appears basically
the only area left with vegetation as is , is probably below the 20 '
contour. Mr. Bergman said that the 34' , the 321 and the 3o' contour
are being relocated on the easterly side of the lot but at the
point at the area,, there is only normal re-grading at the 26' con-
tour as is the 28' ; 'but nothing downslope of the 26, contour.
Mr. ergman conceded that there will be quite a bit of re-grading
and stripping along the easterly side of the lot .
There is a great deal of concern about the possibility of severe
erosion at this point . It was at this time that it was agreed to
continue this hearing to allow the applicant to fora a solution
to the situation or to modify the plan. It was also decided that
plans for Lot #9 ockway Bay have same measure of effect on this
proposal . Proposal for Lot #9 is to be heard on March 27 , 1986 .
Attention was called to letter written on March 13 , 1986 to John
La ders-Ca 1 y of Holmes and McGrath regarding Ockway Bay properties
in which revised plans shoving setbacks from the edge of the wetland
areas is stated to be required before any orders of Conditions are
issued .
