Conservation Commission <br /> Meeting of August 7. 1986 <br /> :gage : ... <br /> Conservation officer: John Var•f onda spoke on the new Wet Land Restriction Act.. <br /> implemented by DEM which he stated is another level of protection while not <br /> creating any more paper work. He requested that the Commission send a letter <br /> to 'the-Secretary endo rs i-ng this . This will cover some things that the Wet <br /> Lands blot does not. This will be discussed at the net meeting. <br /> He further advised of a call from a lawyer representing a Mr. Burke who stated <br /> letter was being sent to the Comission requesting an emergency order for a <br /> revetment at the 521 Triton Way location as he is losing his house. It was sugg- <br /> ested that he consult with the Building Department. <br /> There was discussion of an illegal concrete stairway and poured concrete pad on <br /> the beach with no order of Conditions for any of this work and an enforcement <br /> order issued. The house was constructed prior to 1978. It was noted when lir. <br /> Burke purchased the property he was told he would have to file for the bulkheads , <br /> etc. It was agreedJohn will go out to the property with a camera and enter the <br /> ho us <br /> Ms Behrman advised that Sally Newbury stated if permission is granted for the <br /> emergency re etmentto protect the house it does not set a precedent for per- <br /> mitting a continuation o the revetment on the abutting lot. <br /> An Order of Compliance will be signed ret week for Cabel Davis . An on s i to <br /> was done and the project is in compliance. <br /> Mr. Vary onda showed the Commission a reap with lots 41 , 42, 43 and 44, Town <br /> owned Conservation land i n Santuit Woods , He advised these are being used � <br /> y the developer for a stump dump and requested permission to talk with the <br /> developer. Stephen VanTo l advised a s tum? dump is illegal,, <br /> It was suggested this would be a good time to suggest to the developer that <br /> p manent concrete bounds be put around Conservation land. John agreed to <br /> obtain maps of the Conservation land. <br /> VOTE: Notion made and seconded to accept the minutes of July 31 , 1986 as <br /> written. <br /> The Commission was advised that Verne Polka would like to spear to the Comm-, <br /> i ss i on regarding pr cede r s. An appo i n ment will be made. <br /> There was discussion of the fee due for the rail bo . It was noted this cores <br /> from the general fund. <br /> There was discussion of reports from the Conservation Officer. A recommendation <br /> from the Personnel Secretary was to have John give a monthly summary of whaz'-. has <br /> been done. It was agreed this will be provided by the Officer on the second <br /> Thursday of each month. <br /> There was di sucssion of the coastal bank at Maushop Village and no response <br /> from them to the latter sent. John advised they are proceeding with the work <br /> requested and he will follow up on this . <br />
