TAKEN UNDER ADVISEMENT Town Planner: A memo was distributed regarding the Mashpee River Corridor rotection Plan, He stated he had a call from the attorney representing ,the heirs of Carl Avant who advised they are i me a ted i n selling this panel -.,to the Town for Conservation consisting of 1 .4 acres across from the Indian Museum. The Herring Run Paring area is actually located on this property. Due to size this could only be one buildable lot restricted by the 1 , Mashpee River set back and Wetlands Act, etc, A variance would be-required, red. was suggested- to the Selectmen and there was no time 'to -put it The purchase •. n the Town Meeting warrant no appraisals are done. H suggested using the Conservation Fund money to acquire this property along with $25,000 federal money. Friends of the leas hpee River negotiated a pricewith 'Earl-e arsters for 15 aures he owns opposite what the town acquired last year. When the 250 acres were purchased on the east side of the River, a grant of $315,000 was obtal-ned but unfortunately , due to accounting problems, the money was not accessible at the time of purchase. Mashpee ended up paying the $315,000 but now that their books are straightened out, if Mashpee has another project they will expand the scope of the application to include something else. After discussion it was agreed the following should be added to the special conditions of the Order of Conditions : The receipt from the Registryf Deeds must be returned to the commission 15 days after issue.
