ASHPEE CONSERVATION COMMISSION Meeting of February 5, 1987 COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: - V. Louise Behr rman, Elliot Rosenberg ) Carol Jacobson, Mary a r t r . Also present were Heather- Urquhart and -,John 'Varkond . ABSENT:T: Gertrude Ferriday, March duPont. Enforcement orders were issued for E.L.. Shore and John Burtis. Orders of Conditions issued to High Wood Water Co . , Colonial Gas and Richard Burp. John advised a letter was received requesting to Amend the PCO i e of Intent from E. L. Shore. He recommended it be issued with the add i t ion .of the con- dition on- dition concerning engineered structures on the enbankmen t. Vote: Motion made and seconded to amend the order of conditions to Edward L. Shore. Unanimous vote. Elliot Rosenberg questioned the procedure of an amended order as concerning D EE. He also questioned the standard for the difference between repair and new structure. ,John advised the regs state 50 . The Assessors state either or 50%. " The contractor has stated this is neer structure. Two permits were pulled, one for the demolition of the existing COttage and one for the new structure. An enforcement .order was issued to John Bu rt i s , 12 Riverside Road , Seconset t Island . An existing cottage on Hamblin Pond was gutted and totally' reconstructed, including a deck that was in the water. Forms are being filed with �,�he Commission. An enforcement order was issued to Commonwealth Electric for a us i ng \severe erosion into San to # t River and denuded vegeta t ion on Quaker Run , caused by exd-essive clearinc on their easements . 7: 30 - Meeting called to order. Greuse Point Informational hearing . Carl Srassettl of Peters-Hartel with John M. Teal , Ecologist f Woods Hole Oce'�an- 0graphic Inst, , consultant on the project. The project is now mown as Oyster Pointe. They y have been be-fo re the P l nn i r Board, who gave p re l i r na r pe va l in concept only. Pictures of Amos Pond were shown. The Commission was invited to visit the site and the input of the commission a�� solicited. They stated they are not looking for immediate action. The prof ec t is well through the state on the sewage treatment facilitY and an extensive '. i geohydrological water study has been completed . They do not as yet have a building type. Mr. Grasset to pointed out a village green concept making the units more dense in one area but leaving more green to the back. Set back in cleared area is 50 ft. and building i's in excess of loo ft . It was stated the sewage treatment is tertiary with chlorine for the nitrates .
