They are proposing to restore the
center of the pond to a deeper water condition for fish to live
in a more healthy condition and encourage wildlife, The dredging
f the pond avoids the edges except for where equipment has to
get in. The watersupply will come from wells on the site.
There will be an on-site sewage treatment system which achieves
9 denitrification,
Answering' a question of the number of lawns planned , Dr. Teal
stated h - ill be approximately of the areas in lawns main-
tained in the usual manner., This i s included in his a l cul-e-
ations of effect on the ground water ,
. Rosenberg asked if there were wetland areas in the project
aside from the ponds and Dr. Teal stated no the wetlands would
be the three ponds shown.
Mr. - Burns que s-ti oned what would be done with dredged material
and r. Teal stated- it would be stockpiled and used as a soil
amendment in the areas to be supplied with lawn. Sediment has
been checked for EPA pollutants and all are acceptable*
Mr. Grasseti advised the intent with the cranberry bog is to
open it up and stake it back into more of a wetland without
changing the character of the wetland. Mrs. Ferriday asked
ghat the maximum size of tree would be that is to be removed
from the bog and was advised only saplings. Dr. Teal stated
it is hoped to renew the hog Orchid population vo&ich require
full sun. .
i
It was noted this is a planned continued maintenance program.
Mr. Grassetti stated -if this is a concern, other consideration
could be given.
Mr. Rosenberg stated before considering an order of conditions
some detailed proposal for the access to the pond for dredging
and type and. method of operation would have to be furnished.
John varkonda' s coments were read which stated the proposed
replication of the wetland should be monitored by a professional
biologist with semiannual reports to the Comission as to progress,
