Conservation Commi-ssion
. February. 25, 1988
Page 6.
Mr. Ho it and stated he was only saying to do it properly he does not
Mink the vegetative cover is there and can control erosion nor can
you just put cover on the site to control erosion. Ms Behriman stated
she failed to see evidence, in the course of an on-site, of erosion
occurring on the site. There is a small amount around the edge of the
bank which is normal around any lake. Mr . Howland disagreed .
Mrs. Ferriday asked why it is necessary to fill behind. Mr. Howland
advised it is not fill but 50 yards of loam will be brought in. With
constructio ,of the wall , there will be irregularities in the ground
and the loam is for a smoothing effect. It goes from zero to 6 inches.
Mrs . Jacobson stated that is a lot of lampa and then to be regrassd
Mr . Howland stated, as it is now. In the Notice of Intent they
recommended that a vegetat'iv'e cover of no Brass be put in for at least
15 feet; wetland species would do better than grass.
5
HEARING CLOSED. ORDER OF CONDITIONS WITHIN 21 DAYS.
- Thomas E. Cimeno Jr. , 29 Frog Fond Close. Continued from
2/4/88, A n existing bulkhead on the site has been damaged by the
actions of an abutter and has to be repaired before the gangway can be
hung off of i t. The gangway goes to two 16' tethered floating docks at
. 90 degrees , one to the other . Permit has been recie ed from the Harbor
master for the - floating dock , and Zoning Board of Appeals has approved
construction .
Mrs. Ferriday advised Lisa has checked and pilinas are in good shape.
Mr. For iati stated the original permit for the bulkhead allows then
to repair it in kind.
Ms Behrman stated this would have to be taken up with the abutter and
if repair of the bulkhead is wished, this will have to be amodific-
ation in the Notice of Intent. At this hearin8, specifically being
discussed are the steps, ramp, hinging on the e i sting pilings and
dock .
Mr. Coffey asked, from the top of the hill , is the proposed staircase
in the existing alleyway down the hill . Mr. Foriati stated generally,
yes. Mr. Coffey continued, elevation of the ground section shows con-
crete columns and he would6e comfowtable with those hand dug rather
than to try to access all that concrete to the site . Mr. Fo i at i
stated all holes will be hand dug. The 'concrete will be a hand batched
process and carried to each hole.
Mr . Coffey stated unless the is a mechanical 4'astener rom the sono tube
to whatever structs, they wi l l' f l oat way . Mr . For i at i stated the
ent a staiway to the bulkhead is above High Water . Mr. Coffey stated
with a storm, that would wash if only sitting atop concrete pilings,
Mr. Fo i at i stated it will be s i tt in on metal brackAs with bolts down
into concrete. This can be put in the Order of Conditions.
