i <br /> MASHPEE CONSERVATION COMMISSION <br /> MEETING of APRIL 7, 1988 <br /> Commissioners Present: V. Louise Behrr an, Gertrude Ferriday, glary M arsters, <br /> Elliot Rosen berg and Patrick Coffey. <br /> Lisa Hanscom was also present. <br /> 7-30 - Maushop Village Condominium Trust - 3A - 3E (New Seabury Corp. Continued <br /> from 3/10/88. Jack Brown, Maureen Dunn and dim Paveli k presenting. <br /> Mr. Brown addressed the five areas of concern <br /> 1 . Shrubs: Either Russian olive or Rosa Rugosa were added at entrance <br /> points to the seeded areas. Direction to beach signs were placed <br /> at five areas and three signs will be added at beach entrances. <br /> Rosa Rua will be placed along both sides of the pathway; the <br /> fence has been extended to tie into an existing snow fence. <br /> The Chairman read into the record a letter from New Seabury outlining these <br /> concerns. <br /> 2. Discussion of vegetation, other than grass: <br /> Mr. Burns asked if there is going to be a sprinkler system and was told there was. <br /> He stated he personally would be against that. Mr. Bron stated it is a low vol- <br /> ume mist system and feel the grass w0l do a better job at preventing surface run- <br /> off and limiting velocity. Ms Dunn advised there will be a 24 h our std ion clock <br /> installed underground. She is on 24 hour alert for any irrigation problem. There <br /> i a weekly maintenance program to check the clock. If there is impending rain, <br /> the clocks are shut off by a rain switch. This system takes 1 less time to wet <br /> the area. <br /> Mr, Burns asked who is monitoring this zone other than what was stated and Ms. <br /> Dunn advised there is constant security surveillance throughout New Seabury. <br /> Mr, Brov.n stated they could put a pressure drop valve that will shut it down <br /> or y.+ night i cut-off. <br /> Ms Behrman stated she would prefer both; a double jeopardy. She asked if the <br /> pressure cutoffs were electrically operated and was hold they would have to be. <br /> 1r. Brown stated they will cone up with a double safety system. <br /> Patrick Coffey relerred to item , the proposed pitch, and asked if everything <br /> will be pitched back to the cottages, away from the bluff. Mr, Ravel i k stated <br /> it would. To lir. Burns question, he stated the blowout has been corrected and <br /> when regraded it will slope away. The enlisting elevation is 32 and will be <br /> pitched back to 32.5 or 32.8. <br /> Ms Behrman stated there should be indicated on the 01an a commitment that the <br /> grade is sloping back. Mr, Brown agreed and initialed the change on the plan. <br /> . Phasing of Work: A series of Certificates of Compliance are proposed <br /> on each purse, prior to moving to the net phase. <br /> Mr. Brown stated this would allow input from the Commission between phases. <br /> Mr. Coffey questioned the fertilizer to be used. Ms Dunn stated it would be <br /> 10-10-10, 40% i ncapsu l ated slow release, o' aged by the EPA. She presented <br /> a brochure from the distributor. <br />
