r <br /> CONS.E.-RVATION CON I BB I ON MEETING <br /> Thur day, June 30 , 1988 <br /> Chairman Louise Sehrman called the meeting to order l <br /> Baker Property, <br /> In visiting the property for other purposes, Lisa found that clearing <br /> was being done on the Baler property, cleaning up a road that has been <br /> overgrown and also clearing ars overgrown bog. <br /> Royce Baker - Cranberry bogs have been in 4amily since 1897. The yam i l y <br /> has worked thea for the last 15-20 years only for family consumption , <br /> Have also used wood for horse heating fire wood. The family is trying to <br /> open roads with large equipment such as a front-end loader for opening <br /> and grading. There are basically two roads. Four xears ago the <br /> € o s u i to control people came in to spray and stated that the roads made <br /> . bogs unusable . They (mosquito control tore out the dikes to drain the <br /> bog. f=amily is trying to get dikes back in to work roads. Also, they <br /> are trying to build up the roads that. have eroded. <br /> In the 1970's they attempted to put up a building for their equipment . <br /> Howe er , local people came in and vandal i Zed their work. Mr . Baker <br /> asked if there were permits needed for what they are doing. <br /> l-1 'r ott - If the land is planted and harvested, it* s considered <br /> agricultural . <br /> Nr . Baker - We are harvesting bogs and se l ec t i e l;: harvesting fire wood, <br /> it i seperstely considereEll ' ott Fire good is of agricultural <br /> under state statutes. <br /> Harriet Barer Hayward - Over the xears thea have al ays harvested some <br /> of the bogs.
