Town Counsel, Colonel <br /> Brogna. and Atty. Mark Murray were in attendance, Town Counsel out ,- <br /> lined the past history of the request and stated -he -wa very pleased <br /> that Col . BroSna expressed a desire to keep in communication with the <br /> Commission to satisfy any needs of the Commission,. <br /> Mrs. Simmons Mated a- letter was written on October 2, 1987 by Town- <br /> Counsel requesting six points of information. The evening of the r <br /> public hearing the questions were not addressed. Again on the 6th, a <br /> *letter was written and the Commission would like more in-depth inform- <br /> ation . The first. question: No. written definitions.- One of the things <br /> going to be changed was facilities to accomodate the F-lb; have any <br /> changes.-bee '.-.made or are any, more contemplated other than sone mun i t i or) <br /> storage will be extended? <br /> Ms Behrman stated some of- this also refers back to the original request <br /> by Mr. rlow. -, - There was a vague reference to redesign and re-engin-. <br /> :eering of the munitions storage facility" The Commission would be <br /> concerned. - if -runoff was ' increased in any way. There was mentioned at <br /> the public h <br /> earin that -they would be redoing the fuel-water separator <br /> that was to b rev i sed. . .When is this going to happen what -is the <br /> cap * t y;. what- i s the maintenance schedule?a These questions were ; <br /> raised at the- public hearing y the Board and bar the large number o <br /> .people i �nattendance., These questions must be answered, especially in <br /> view of the number of members of the p.ublis who expressed grave <br /> concern. <br /> Mrs. Simmons stated the Commission was promised samplings in February <br /> which have not been received. - Also, a report from . . C, Jordan' on. the <br /> July 1 -findings was promised. <br /> Col . Bro.8na stated on the -26th of January,, issues relative to . the <br /> actual source of runoff were' discussed as it pertains to the Air Guard <br /> Base which is. at the high point of the drainage swale between the Base <br /> and Johns Pond itself. With the. arrival of the F-15 aircraft last <br /> fall we have had on the design books, a project to renovate and up- <br /> a e ' n existing munitions-weapons storage area to accomodate the new <br /> weapons system - for the F-I which basically carries. the same weapons <br /> asthe y <br /> -106, used to carr and the new modern type weapons. a advised <br /> they are in the final negotiation stages with their consultant engineer <br /> why will design the project. <br /> As of now, they have not started the <br /> .design work, they are . only coap l et ing ne at ons. <br /> The work is to modernize and modify the existins weapons storage area; <br /> it willl be an alteration to one existing building for maintenance <br /> purposes for .the weapons system. There will be a new administrative <br /> building of approximately 3,000 sq. t. and some of the older buildings <br /> in the area sill be abandoned. They are trying to reloocate a couple <br /> f buildings so the quantity distance r qu i revent needed for, the --1 <br /> will be met* These buildings are too close to the proposed munition <br /> site. <br />
